Pro Tip: Today (Cyber-Monday) only you can buy a $100 gift card for $75 limit 4 at Central Market. A 25% discount where they have a pretty decent beer selection I like.

So, I was in the Food Coop here in town yesterday, grabbing some snacks to take over to my buddies house for the game. As is my habit, I visited the beer section. There were 2 bottles of regular sitting on the shelf. Didn't even touch 'em. The bottles of Lolita, on the other hand, did tempt me a bit.

That's what happened with Rusty Nail, kinda. There weren't crazy lines or anything but it didn't survive the day.

Best beer related thing I did all weekend was go to Beer Junction Saturday night. Draft list was crazy awesome with coffee beers. I'd never had the Kona Speedway before, so good.

I stopped at Pint Defiance on Black Friday, got 2 bottles and a glass on draft with no problems. Picked up a bunch of extra stuff as well.

It lasted at least two days. 1/pp/day. I got two.

Brew 1000 only lasted a day (at the brewery), but, as with Rusty Nail, it wasn't manufactured scarcity or drummed up hype. It was simply a beer that everyone who knew Fremont knew would be great, and there wasn't that much of it to begin with. I, for one, appreciate their efforts to keep their special releases as low-key as possible.

Never, TheBungyo, never....Because Beer Matters too much to douche our friends with tricky releases.

I finally bought BCBS today. I happened to be at the northside TW looking for KDS & Bbomb varietals (only the "standard" KDS was present) and saw they were selling 16.9oz bottles of BCBS at the customer service desk for $9.99 and I said "what the hell..." Also walked out with a bomber each of the aforementioned KDS and Fat (SC's finally available in these parts). No Black Friday bullshit = no problem.

I was talking to a guy at Spokane Northside TW today about it. He said they had one case mixed between them and the Valley store, and only one other case made it to all of eastern WA, and their allotment was there and gone in a flash.

Didn't that place get used for filming the last scene of Raiders of the Lost Ark?

Then I feel lucky to have gotten one from them when they had 'em.

I wonder where the other case ended up...maybe Yakima valley somewhere?

I've often wondered why JBs does not carry any of the Fremont special releases. I see occasional bottles of their seasonal stuff (they have The Brother), and they have plenty of other special releases from other top-notch breweries. But never any barrel-aged Fremont stuff.

Maybe they don't get the love for those from whoever locally distributes Fremont.

As of this last Sunday the Super 1 Foods in Post Falls had 2+ cases of BCBS. I bought two at $8.39 each. As I had already bought two plus a barleywine at TW in Olympia on Friday I decided to leave some for you Eastsiders.

Anybody still hunting BCBS variants may want to stop by Saturday morning. And Abraxas too for the non AB Inbev crowd!
