It's definitely not too large for one but since I share a lot with the GF and she usually only wants about a 1/3 of the pour the larger bottles are great for me.

Maybe "took" wasn't the right word. I was able to space 16.9 oz. over a two hour period and not feel like my glass was always empty. I poured about half of it from the start and then topped off the glass after I had consumed about 4 oz. I could have continued to consume if it was a bomber but I didn't feel shortchanged over the quantity that was in the bottle.

Personally I wish they were offered in 11.014 oz bottles, I always have trouble finishing that last .816 ounces of beer.

I think I would prefer 8oz 4-packs, but I think I'll adjust to 16.9oz just fine. I just need to plan on setting up camp on the couch for 2 hours - not a problem!

And Stone and Evil Twin and Sierra Nevada don't do anything like sell 1 pt 0.9 oz and 22 oz offerings without regular 12 oz 4 or 6 packs, right?

I mean, seriously. I love to bash on ABInbev too, and this clearly is a bit of a cash grab, but they aren't doing anything that tons of craft darlings are doing, as well.

I honestly do not drink a lot of these beers by myself so for me 16.9 is good with me. I think a lot of these barrel aged beers are meant to share. I don't need more than 6-7oz of this stuff at a time anyways.

I prefer them in 12 oz bottles, or even 8oz cans like the 21st Amendment Barleywine. The bottle look pretty, I'll say that, but I'd rather the smaller amount. Basically a bottle of wine at this point, it's not cool to be drinking a whole bottle of wine very often.

16.9 is a good amount to share with another person as I did last Friday, or a slow sipper by yourself on a cold evening, but I much prefer the 12 oz. format. Yeah, the bottles look cool, but this was purely about ramping up the price on a premium product. This year I paid 144.00 for 186 oz., and last year it was roughly 100.00 for 192, so 44 more bucks for 6 less ounces. I was actually in line to get some more, but did a quick calculation on my cell phone and decided I was done since my limit for BC was 100.00 in past years, and coffee stout wasn't available. I'm getting my coffee cold brewer later this week so a couple of those BCBS's will turn into BCBCS's, and maybe more if I like the result.

I must be a total degenerate because I treated myself to an entire 11% 750ml last night after putting up Christmas lights and taking about 39 bins of Halloween and Thanksgiving shit back up into the attic.

I loved the 12 oz. It was perfect. A million other BA beers come in bombers. I also loved the fact they sold it as a 4 pk of 12 oz bottles. None of this 2 per limit stuff.

    2014: $22 got me 48 ounces of BCBS (four 12 ounce @ 45 cents/ounce)
    2015: $22 got me 33.8 ounces of BCBS (two bottles @ 65 cents/ounce)

I really don't think Goose was trying to adjust for the average "perfect" amount for us to drink/share.

It is much easier to "hide" a 45% price jump with a format change.

I like the new format, perfect size for a solo sip session. When you get to the last sips it is so opened up and amazing.

I will admit the size is odd and in-between, but I can handle it just fine over the course of several hours. I usually stream games on twitch, so, a slow drinking beer over the course of a two or three hour stream works fine for me.

500ml is the perfect size for 2 people in my opinion.

i think a 16.9 is just a little low and 22bomber is a little high, so why not just make it an "imperial pint". a popular example are those 19.2 oz oskar blues cans, i'd like to see bcbs in a bottle that size

I pretty regularly drink bombers of these types of beers at home. I know it's not the healthiest practice, but having the equivalent of 4-5 drinks is not a huge amount. I had 24oz of draft pours (Vanilla Rye, 2014 BW and 2015 Stout) at the release event I went to over about 3 hours. Didn't seem like a problem to me. If it is, it's a pretty delicious problem.

I'd rather have the 12oz, but not because of the price. 10 bucks per 16.9 oz is still cheap as shit for such a fine beer.
