Goes without saying. Isn't complaining about things the first rule of beer club?

Back from the LB location with a growler fill of my favorite Amalgamator. Wow this batch is awesome. The cask with Mosaic Flowers is even better. I see CitraHolic is on the horizon.

I hear BWSB will be tapping Vanilla Rye tomorrow & donating 100% to a good cause. I honestly hope they charge $20 a pour so they can make a sizable impact. Unfortunately I won't be able to make the drive but any given trip on the off chance I am sitting at BWBBQ and they are helping a cause w/ a donation I'm happy to support (PtY raffle etc).

Considering the absurd secondary value of the beer i am sure it would still blow in an hour or so. Dunno the what it will actually cost but for those of you who haven't had it, probably a good way to tick it and help the world.

Your pic for your profile is awesome. Never had BA Full Malted Jacket, does it taste like BCBW?

BA FMJ is a barrel aged wee heavy, BCBW is a barrel aged barleywine. Do you often find that wee heavies taste like barleywines?

All the time! I do think BCBW tastes like Mocha Wednesday also. Weird right? I've never had Mocha Wednesday either, I'm just assuming.

Plenty of folks at SB this morning for Vanilla Rye with 100% of the proceeds going to the CA Craft Brewers Association. Looks like Beachwood is done supporting AB Inbev products. Good riddance.

Saw bottles of Nine still selling.

VR kicked in I think around seventy five minutes or so.

Has anybody had it both on tap and out of the bottle? I didn't pick up on a whole lot of vanilla. Is it much different out of the bottle?

The vanilla has mellowed out over time. When it first came out, the vanilla was a lot more intense. I had some around Black Friday last year on tap, from a bottle this Summer, and on tap again last night at Naja's in Redondo Beach.

So would you say that on-tap at Najas had mellowed out even more than what you remember from your bottle in the summer?
