Local around chicago that i've been to:
Lagunitas, Three Floyds, Penrose, Solemn Oath

Others: Russian River, Rogue in San Francisco(yeah i know the flak for Rogue..but the location right on Columbus in North Beach is really cool), Southern Pacific Brewery(the beer is average, but the brewery is in an old engine yard so it's a pretty cool set up)

For me, Russian River has been my favorite. It's hard to beat the sampler they offer (when I was there, I think it was 16 beers for about a buck apiece).

I also loved Lagunitas in California due to the laid back vibe and great outdoor space.

As a homer pick, Ocelot's taproom has a fantastic vibe and great beers.

    NEBCO and Dogfish Head..

NEBCO because they just redid the entire thing and it's a perfect atmosphere for what they are trying to accomplish.
Dogfish Head because they had a shit ton of other things to do besides sit at the bar and drink, plus that tree house they have in the front yard of the brewery is SWEET!

Phantom Carriage is one of my favorites. Cool atmosphere and all of their barrels are stacked up right next to the tap room.

Other Half. Amazing selection always -- 12 , 14 beers? -- in various sizes from 4oz to growlers. Right now it's rather tight quarters, but they're expanding.

    Russian River
    Three Floyds

Those two have stood out from others I've visited. I'll be visiting Cigar City Brewing next week so we'll see if it makes that top tier cut also.

Well, when I've been there they had a room - with taps - and I've had several pours of whatever they had on tap that day as well as growler fills. Call me weird but I'd call that a tap room. Turn left at the entrance to the pizza place and you'll see it.

Strange, but my favorite tap room is State Line Liquors. It applies as it has 25 taps. Their tasting events are fantastic and I have met many friends there so it feels like Cheers.

Sorry, I was being sarcastic. I'd consider a tap room a spot you can purchase beers by the glass and hang out. Fiddlehead doesn't have that. I know you can go next door with the beers, but it's not the same.
