Id sure appreciate this beer much more if it wasn't $16 a six pack. What gives with their high prices in WI.?

The hops and fruit flavors always clash, in my opinion.

It is not just WI, Ballast Point beers (all of their brands) are $15+ here in PA (my local beer retailers).

As long as people are willing to pay these prices why would Ballast Point lower them?

For transparency I refuse to pay this much for beer so no bottles/canned Ballast Point for me. I do purchase Ballast Point when I find it on draft since the FU price factor is not as exorbitant for their draft beer in my area.

    Cheers!

Same here man. I pass it up every time I see it. Would love to try it but my limit on a 6 pack is about $13-$14 and even at that it had better be at least 10% or stronger. I want bang for my buck. I would love to try this though as I love pineapple and citrus type IPA's. Oh well. More money to buy CW BB Stout I guess.

I think they are $14/6pack here in Colorado so they are just expensive everywhere. It'd still be way more expensive for me to go to a bar and drink 6 draft beers.

You're paying less than $2.50 a draft for Ballast Point? Man, that's a good deal.

    CANT WAIT.

Addicted to Grapefruit Sculpin. One of my favorite beers.

Canals here has it nicely priced for $11.99/6 pk cans. Which my wallet appreciates.

Do you ever see Ballast Point beers in tap? Maybe you could try a pint of Pineapple Sculpin on draft?

    Cheers!

What's funny is they'd probably find a way to make it work. I think Thai Chili Wahoo Wheat w/ Thai chili, ginger, and lime is friggin' delicious. BP has had the fruit/adjunct thing nailed for a long time -- I'm lookin' forward to this.

Comparing draft prices to packaged prices is inappropriate. I compare the price of a draft pint of Ballast Point beer to the price of comparable draft beer from another brewery (e.g., Stone, Firestone Walker, ...).

    Cheers!

Yea, but you said a six pack of Ballast Point is super expensive and you would never buy it via bottle or can. You are, in essence, paying way more for the same beer by only buying it on draft. If it's the same product.....how does the way it's consumed change anything about you paying far more for the same product?

I'm guessing a draft of Sculpin is $6 (give or take $1) so 2.5 pints is the same price as 6 bottles. I'm only arguing this because you said you wouldn't even buy bottles or can due to it's high price. I totally agree it's expensive, but choosing to buy it only at a bar doesn't seem like a way of beating the "high" price of a six pack.

When I go to my local beer bar I go there to drink beer and to interact with other folks at the bar. I will be buying beer while there and if they have a Ballast Point beer on tap that I want to drink I will do so since it will only be priced 25-50 cents higher than the other beers on tap.

When I go to my local beer retailer to buy a 6-pack I will buy beer from non-Ballast Point breweries since I can buy beer that I enjoy drinking for about 10 bucks vs. paying over 15 bucks for the 6-packs of Ballast Point beers. Ballast Point packaged beers are not 50% better to me vs. the other options.

Feel free to pay 50% more for your 6-packs of Ballast Point beer. Ballast Point Brewing and their distributors appreciate the 'extra' profit that you give them.
