I'm going to be in the Anaheim area for the day next week and want to bring back some quality beers (primarily BA/Stouts and IPAs) that are unavailable in Colorado. Plan to hit the Bruery (got BT waiting to pick up) and Bottle Logic. Suggestions? Thanks all!
Noble Ale Works in Anaheim has terrific IPAs and Milk stouts, but unless something changes soon there are no bottles currently available to go.
Barley Forge in Costa Mesa, not far from Anaheim. They should still have Fugue State BA in a bottle, limit 2. It's a RIS BA. When I had it I was blown away, I gladly got two bottles.
No bottles available to go right now? Weird. In any case, OP, fresh Big Whig IPA should be on shelves all over right now. So if you see it (Mr. K's would likely have), would recommend grabbing it.
they still have bottles? i figured they'd sell out day of release. will have to try and make it down there. wanted to try that
When I was there 10-14-15, they had bottles available and it was on tap. I'm not sure when it came out, but there wasn't any line for it. Nor did I see anyone else buy them while I was there. I got a pour of it, and I was disappointed since I assumed it wasn't bottled. I barely saw the sign when I left to pay the tab. I guess it's possible it's sold out now.
I was there last week and had a pour of BA Fugue and it was pretty good. Lower ABV (~10%) than your typical BA stout with an interesting flavor profile. I did not see any bottles in the fridge so may want to call to confirm they are still available.
Darkstar November is still on tap at bottle logic right now..I mean, you can't miss it especially this batch haha
Any idea how long citra showers might last on the shelf? I'm coming out on the weekend of Dec 18, and was hoping to score some. If it likely won't be there anyone looking good to trade for anything from DC/VA area?
It has been sitting on shelves quite a while for the last couple releases. I've seen it last a month at one particular store by me. Really depends on where you will be tho. Some shops go through it within a couple weeks.
They'll make you buy so many shelf turd beers and still they won't give you what you like. Did I mention owner is an asshole? Give your business to people who cares.
True. Mr Kegs started getting in Noble stuff a month or so ago. But in order to get the Showers they had to buy a bunch of other crap.
Good stores will eventually catch up with their shadiness. About 3 years ago we cut ties with this distro and I couldn't be any happier. The best business decision I made in my last 14 years at Mr. K's. No regrets.
