Founders Brewery Surprise!

It's still on my beer bucket list.

 

Why don't you just read the reviews since that's basically what you are looking for?

 

I've been lucky enough to have CBS on tap twice and its an amazing brew. One of the best I've ever had.

 

I live about 3 miles from founders, and work at a brewery that is about a mile from founders. When CBS comes on I tell my customers that they should get down there and have some. It's a great beer, and every once in a while they release it for no reason, no crazy lines for bottles, no announcement, it's just there. I had a couple who were visiting from Ohio and I told them that kbs and CBS were both on at the brewery, you should have seen their faces haha. That's what I love about this city, it's not a competition, we all take care of each other. I recommend other breweries and other breweries recommend us. I'm glad you got to enjoy it, cheers!

I was lucky enough to go to a CBS and KBS event at a local bar last winter. I was extremely fond of CBS.

 

Was lucky enough to get 2 very generous pours one Sunday morning in Chicago. Was a super chill Brunch event; no crowds, lots of nice people and the keg stayed on for about 2 hours. Loved the crap out of that beer - it was very special.

A pale imitation is to take a teaspoon (or a bit more if you like it sweet) and add it to a KBS... it isn't the same, but it does add a nice kick of smoothness and sweetness to the regular KBS (as though it needs it!).

 

Yup. Had CBS on Wednesday evening at a Founder's tap takeover at Draught 55 in Manhattan. Beautiful beer.

 

One of my buddies stopped by and enjoyed the KBS, CBS and Project Pam. Said he loved them all. But don't tell the "Founders doesn't care about Grand Rapids" crowd. They are enjoying their delusion.

 

I've had CBS at the Founders taproom four times this year (Cellar Raid week, KBS Week, Black Party, last weekend), and I live 2+ hours away, but I'm always willing to make that trek. CBS is plentiful when on there and always worth it.

I've also been lucky to have had it a few times around my house, as well.

 

I've had KBS before, but never had the opportunity to even see CBS in person. Some day...

 

in the boat with others. Have yet to be there when it goes on. They don't list it online, so gotta get lucky. Honestly I would love if someone posted on here when it was on, and i would most likely make the drive.

 

I used to live in GR in the mid-late 90's as the craft brewing movement was young so I missed it. Plus I was a poor college student and would not have been able to afford them.

 

I thought it was great, but not better than KBS. It's really wasn't as hard to find as some people think it is. I've had a number of opportunities this year.

 

Thing is when it goes on it doesn't even last 30 min.

 

I don't know that I've ever seen the word 'beautiful' applied to any beer before, and you know what, that's probably the best word to describe CBS.

 

On Saturday, it was on when they opened at 11, and it was still on when we left at 1:30.

 

Never had it, would love to try it. I love regular Breakfast Stout.
