Glad the guy from North Carolina is concerned about us in our beer line. Always good to have a few pearl-clutchers around to keep us in line and think of the children.

Every time I see a back and forth about rule-breaking and people coming out of the woodwork to shine a light on the breakers of said rules, I get this feeling like maybe we all need to just shut our mouths and not care so much about what other people are doing. Is the guy next to you drinking a beer on line in any way affecting you, unless he's had too much and then is acting like a fool? No! So let him accept any consequences of his actions and live your own life. End rant.

I couldn't care less if you get rip-roaring drunk in line.

I would care if our host(Kane) faces potential penalties because you don't follow the "rules".

Accept if they are breaking the rules or law, it has an impact on other people, not just the fool doing it. The people who own and work at the brewery make their livelihood there, things get out of hand at releases and the brewery becomes a nuisance to the community, they could get shut down (see Alchemist). Just so some entitled beer geek has to be able to drink in a line waiting for beer.

I also do not care if you choose to drink in line at 8 am for a release. I personally don't enjoy drinking that early but I get why people want to have a bottle share or whatever. However, it certainly is disrespectful to the brewery, and to others who choose to follow the rules, if they specifically ask you not to drink, and you still decide to go against their wishes. From what I understand they can get into a lot of trouble if the police decide to crack down, that is why they ask you not to drink. If they ever got into trouble, for something so easily avoidable it wouldn't be good for anyone.

You all make valid points. My sleep-deprived brain didn't adequately alert my fingers before I clicked "post reply" that the pesky "law" could infringe on other's enjoyment of a day waiting on line should someone decide to ignore it. I still don't appreciate non-authority figures telling me what I can and cant do but that's shouldn't have been a reason for me stir the pot here. Let's all look forward to a hopefully smooth and fun event and may we all get the beer we want.

That's all i was saying too, except I wrote mine before the coffee kicked in and I'm obviously not a morning person. If the ABC wants to create an issue for a Brewer, they will. I had a Hardywood employee tell me ABC had a serious talk with them...which is why they say no alcohol in lines. There was a brewery in Asheville that got fined BC the employee poured themselves a beer as they were cleaning AFTER they closed. ABCs can be dicks.
If I go someone's house and they say don't smoke, I respect that. If I'm on someone else's property, I respect their wishes.
And yes, I'm driving up. Lived in NJ up until last year. These releases are a good excuse to see family.

Kane has repeatedly asked people not to drink whilst they wait for bottle releases and/or whilst they're in an outside line waiting for further bottle purchases. They aren't being "pearl-clutchers" and they're not killing your freedom as a distracted-driving, gun-toting, bitch-slapping, hot dog-eating American. It is simply not allowed.

Of course, none of this matters. The entitlement society has already propagated the conflation of freedom to engaging in any style of behavior they wish to indulge in regardless of law, custom, dignity, or respect for their fellow person. Carry on, assholes.

I'm in the same boat, I could care less what other people do in line. But I do believe it can affect Kane which in turn could affect all of us. Even on non release days I have seen Mike Kane go outside and ask people to not drink in the parking lot.

Yeahhh...you're really helping to keep this a civil discussion. I already admitted my shortsightedness. No need for the name-calling.

Yeah he was, it appears he likes to act as an authority figure on behalf of others and make assumptions about imagined lifestyles that involve slapping women distractedly with hot dog guns or something, a little hard to follow really.

Let's all mind our own business. If people behave, it will all be ok.

Wow. A nice note of Kane asked people not to bring beer would have been sufficient rather than being a dick. Craft beer is really losing that community feeling.

I have never had to wait in line for Kane stuff so I was unaware of their request and when I have waited for beer at other places, people have brought stuff to share with strangers. My only taste of CBS was from the generosity of a stranger in line.

If you wanna drink in line follow three rules.
    1) don't be a dick
    2) pour the beer into cups
    3) don't be obnoxious
With that being said I'll be there around 4 if anyone wants to join with sharing some stuff

Enough about drinking in line, people. They asked that you don't, and it's illegal. Move on already.

Back to talking about releases from Kane in the month of December.

Just opened my last can of Head High and I have to say it has held up really really well. Lost some of the hops but still very drinkable.

Funny @NJNYC732, I just had my last also. Agreed with drinkability, felt hops were a bit muted.
