Yea I mean I wasn't suggesting someone should do it, just saying it's a reason someone might. I mean, also people just want to try all of the variants. If you can't get to a bar with it but can get a bottle, that'd be another reason. Some people also might be into fruited stouts.

How long did people wait outside of the MD Total Wine's for variants (i.e. Rare, if they got it)?

Agreed. Went to local store. There was 6-8 bottles each of regular (10.99) and BW (12.99). Didn't appear to be a limit. Picked up 2 each (didn't want to be "that" guy) and went on my way.

Where was that at? I'm still looking for anything besides regular. Still have all 5 bottles and willing to trade. I keep reading a lot of stuff that says variants will be coming soon. Anyone know if that's true?

Talked to the guy who was first in line (or very close to first). He got there at 6:50am for an 8:00am opening. Early, but not crazy like some of the DC stuff (heard people lined up outside Scheniders the night before).

    EDIT: This was at Laurel.

Want to hear something amazing? Roasthouse Pub In Frederick had a Bourbon County event on Black Friday. They tapped 2013, 2014, and 2015 regular, 2013 coffee, and 2014 barleywine. They opened/tapped the beers at 10:00 AM. I showed up around 1:00 with my father and wife and asked for a table. Once greeted, I inquired about the availability of the beers (since, you know, in DC 3 hours is wishful thinking). She said everything was still available. My father and I ordered a flight. While delivering the flight, she also handed each of us a Goose Island Bourbon County t-shirt. When I asked about the shirt, she said the first 20 people to order the flight got a free t-shirt. My jaw dropped to the floor. Three hours after tapping the beers I was still one of the first 20?? F*ck you DC.

Was it like a Migration Week shirt?

I'll have to get back to you on that. By the time I checked, I was quite intoxicated

Damn I know where I'm going next year. I have been wanting to try Roasthouse when I'm up hat way because they always seem to have a great tap list.

Any news of another wave of coffee or regal - or know where I can score some today? Thanks!

You may have better luck calling stores and asking. If someone posts here about coffee or regal it usually comes with "sold out instantly", "was allocated", or "got the last bottle".

Dawson's looked to have plenty of regular and barleywine on the shelves and behind the counter. At $15.99 and $19.99 a bottle don't get into a multi-car pile up to get there and stock up!

Every place that still has bottles, usually has them because they have a high markup.

I know, I was just shocked that Dawson's has the gall to charge that much. I know they aren't the cheapest place but 1.5x to 2x normal retail price is absurd!

I saw more bottles for $15.99 than $10.99. As a matter of fact, the cheapest I saw was $13.99.
