Due to a bout of tonsillitis I'm now on antibiotics but I'm only just past the 4 day mark of the 10 day prescription. This means that I haven't had a beer since Saturday and that I won't be able to partake until this coming Tuesday (March 13th). The longest I have gone without a beer that I can ever remember and I'm suffering intense withdrawl. How will I last? Makes me wonder...

What's the longest you have ever abstained from beer?

Since I've gotten into craft beer, maybe a week at most...

    You'll survive though.

5 months for me, I would say. At this moment in time I am body building seriously so my diet is very strict, but I can enjoy a beer, no more then two during my carb load day. Carb loading is a tricky day, as I can have many complex carbs, but even healthy fats during this day have to be 20 grams or less. So, beer is a great way to enjoy carbs!

I did pick up Nugget Nectar as this is what I enjoy must. And I picked up a single small bottle of Orval....

It isn't the booze content I'm missing. Its the taste...

same here, i limit my drinking to about once every two weeks or once a week and to only a few beers of QUALITY. the buzz is much quicker and rewarding but i do crave beers if i go to long, i am not intensely bodybuilding but i run about 7-8 miles a day training for a marathon though.

    Cheers!

I would enjoy running more if only I wanted to be leaner. But since I want to add muscle to areas I need for the look, and the fat gone from places I do not need, I bike. I have been using runkeeper.com to keep track of my mileage and calorie count. I try to at least bike a hefty 6- 8 miles 4 times a week. This is good for me to slim down!
But beer! Oh you work out hard and boy you deserve it at the end of the week!

No time to read either of these right now - but based on subject line alone I think this needs to be merged with the "I had the worst nightmare last night" thread...
