    Welcome to the 2015 first annual Chanukah thread! this is the place to share your beer, menorah, dreidel latke, etc. and share in the holiday festivites. so please join in, one and all, jew and gentile, weak and strong, few and many, wicked and righteous, all are welcome.

    I will post my first beer and menorah shot after sunset here, but please lets all join the Chanukah fun.

    We are a multi religion home so we celebrate Chanukah, Christmas, Festivus and whatever else you got that involves overeating and presents.

    It doesn't look appetizing yet, but here are my shredded potatoes and onions. In a couple hours they will be fried and delicious latkes.

    and so this is chanukah...

    so the traditional silver menorah with olive oil and traditional bees-wax candle. oh and i snuck a dreidel in too
    paired with a gimmicky craft lager which is rather shmaltzy, and kosher certified

    a nice crisp lager with a flavorful hop punch.

    I can't submit any pictures, but we had the in-laws over for our little guy's first Channukkah (how many ways are there to spell it, anyway?)
    Didn't have too much so far, but I made up a big batch of latkes, appropriating my propane burner (didn't want the smell in the house for the next 2 months) and had a Night Shift Whirlpool and Cape Cod Beer IPA along with it. Probably going to crack something else in a few minutes.

    Happy Chanukah, everyone! We just lit the first candle ourselves, and I happen to be enjoying an Alpine Nelson. My younger son is flying solo with the prayer now that his brother is off to college, and he nailed it.

    We are an interfaith family, too, and I like the way that @SammyJaxxxx described the attitude: "...and whatever else you got that involves overeating and presents". We carry that into Christmas Eve too, where my parents have made latkes an integral part of that celebration. Somehow, I don't get sick of them, either, no matter how often they are served :slight_smile:.

    I have Jewish cousins that celebrate Christmas with our family, so I will celebrate Chanuka with a Bourbon County Barleywine!

    Happy Hannukah BA'ers. Just got back from the in laws celebration. Great seeing my 2 year old running wild with his cousins while the brother/sister in law and I down some brews from trillium, jacks abby, & night shift.
    Got them some Jack's Abby beers & a gift certificate to the taproom.
    The wife's big gift to me this year was all beer: membership to the Night Shift Barrel Society for next year!!
