The abyss. Yep, another strike. Tasted like bbq sauce, unfinishable.

it isn't difficult to get but it is highly rated.

Founders Breakfast Stout doesn't do anything for me. I love IPAs, big IPAs, and big Stouts/RISs but Breakfast Stout is too booze-forward for me. i could name a bunch of stouts i'd rather have

Huh... I only had Abyss 2014, and I thought it was the most special beer I've ever tasted...

My most disappointing is Bourbon County anything. Had BCBS 2014. BCBS 2015. BCBCS 2015. BCBRS 2015. BCBBW 2015. And another BCBS 2014 again today. Everything on tap, except the coffee.

I don't get it. None of them taste good.

I'm seeing Alpine Pure Hoppiness and agree. Local beer bar had it on tap and after tasting it (2 oz sampler), it wasn't worth ordering.
My big one is Christmas Bomb! from Prairie. I really like Bomb!, but I had such an underwhelming experience with Christmas Bomb! that I'm not gonna revisit it.

Beachwood. They are horribly overrated. Also, modern times has not really wowed me in spite of lots of hype.

@ffOpusx, I disagree. For me the Pure Hoppiness didn't do much for me and was glad I only got a single. However, Nelson and Duet I've had multiple times and both are fantastic beers, the Nelson being one I really, really enjoy. All were GF brewed. Now I can see how people who gave had the original versions may say that these were superior, but I just can't imagine them being earth-shatteringly better than the GF ones. Just my take.

My disappointment: a one-off Modern Times Monsters Park aged in a single barrel of 12 year old Elijah Craig. I like MT but that one just did not get close to expectations or the hype burgeoned by the perceived exclusivity of this offering.

It's sad. At the brewery in Alpine, Pure Hoppiness was my favorite in the lineup.

However, I agree that the new distributed version is underwhelming.

Just about every Firestone bomber except for Parabajava, Parabola, and Sucaba. Helldorado and Stickee Monkey were crazy sweet, Velvet Merkin was thin, and Double DBA was a confusing, unpleasant experience. The only Anniversary blend I've had (XVIII) also didn't really do it for me. Love the first three though.

I bought a six pack about a month, maybe month and a half ago (less than $17.99, probably closer to $13 probably) and found it to be every bit great. Very aggressive hops, great balance. Maybe it suffers from immediate drop off?

Maybe you have to actively do ironic properly.

I have heard this quite a bit, and after having Pure Hoppiness, Duet, Nelson and Hoppy Birthday post Green Flash, I was a little less enthused over Duet and Hoppy but overall, if this is WORSE than it must have been Unicorn blessed before. Did the recipe change when GF started distro'ing them? I can't see anything wrong with these beers, and honestly feel very lucky that I have access to them now.

The one beer I was a little let down by was Jai Alai. First time I had it my wife brought a six pack back from Florida and it seemed a little grassy and malty. I can't recall if there was a date or if there was if it was suspect, so I didn't make too much of it. Figured I would have it again and verifiably fresh. Month ago they hit TW here very fresh. Yep, grassy and a touch more maltiriffic. Bear in mind that I enjoy Jai Alai and if it were billed as an APA or even an English IPA I would have had a better immediate reaction but in keeping with the thread, I was "let down" because I assumed through all the hype that this would be a massively hopped face peeler.

2015 Prop. Too sweet for me and there is too much going on. Keep it simple next year, one or two adjuncts.

AGREED. Finally landed one in a trade and was quite disappointed I had put that much effort into getting one :slight_frown:
