    starting this thing off with an amazing stout from Stone. Was pretty pumped to find these on my last beer run. It has just about everything I look for in a stout. The spices seem to balance perfectly with the chocolate and have such a smooth finish. I definitely recommend!

    Good morning BAs! It's another frozen day here in NW PA so hopefully I'll finish processing my butternut squash crop - for planting them in July I sure got a few pounds! Of course after they're all processed I'll have to clean off the chest freezer (It's covered with beer!) in order to freeze them.

    Today's breakfast beer is:

    The beer named after the grain from "The Trouble with Tribbles" episode of Star Trek. This is the first time I've had a beer made with triticale and I gotta say I'm not impressed. There is a definite grainy flavor, not altogether pleasant. Oh well - nothing ventured, nothing gained - at least Stone keeps trying new combos.

    Morning BA's, This morning Were starting with Le Castor's Dubbel D'hiver, This is a Dubbel brewed with red grapes. I found it fairly average, not something I would often say of a Castor beer. It's still pretty good just not amazing. The nose and flavor profile are virtually the same, you get clove, Cinnamon, Caramel malts, Spices, candi sugar. Cheers![​IMG]

    My wife and I are taking two of our dogs to the groomers, then doing a little Christmas shopping.

    My closer last night while soaking in the hot tub; I agree that the spices are well balanced with the chocolate and vanilla, a very tasty beer!

    Amusing name and can design. A lot of kick to it and the fact that I paired it with a spicy dish made the whole thing ever more nippy: "Fascist Pig" by Finch's Beer Company of Chicago.
