This is one of the most misinformed posts I have ever read on this site. Not only is it completely untrue, but its entirely implausible based upon the way HF operates.

Why do people treat criticisms of their favorite local brewery like someone has just insulted their mother? If you disagree then disagree, but save the indignation and personal attacks.

Can we at least all agree that Boom Sauce sucks?

I agree wholeheartedly with this statement, but personally I think the "award" for having such a diverse portfolio over a wide breadth of beers while still maintaining high quality has to go to HF. That isn't just for NE, but for the whole US, too.

@rwitter - you're like the Scott Hall of craft beer. If you powerbomb another brewer through a table and then spray paint "NWO" on them (maybe "HF" instead), I just ask that you put it on YouTube!

I'd wager $1,000 this post ends up getting deleted, but in the interim if you read through this whole thread and then came to this post tell me you didn't laugh your ass off!

I once beat up a nun because she said my mother couldn't make a Black IPA.

Idk, there is just something that comes across as awkward to me reading a brewer at one local brewery criticize the competition, especially when most others in here disagree with the criticism. Just comes across as kind of condescending. Not that any beer is above criticism, but when the only one saying the appreciation is wrong works for the other guy, it's not a great look.

I don't think one person had a negative thing to sayabout TH. Wait times maybe.

This is a Trillium fan boy thread... Come on now. And yes people were making false statements about Treehouse. Long lines, creative pricing comparing Treehouse with Trillium, bashing it cause it is a rural brewery, saying that the staff can't handle the crowds.

Ryan is definitely opinionated. But he is a great brewer and can back it up. I haven't ticked a TON of the Hill stuff since he has been there but I have ticked a bunch of the stuff he did in London with Siren when I was over there. Not quite Kernel level  but really good.

Call me an optimist(you may be the first), but what a wonderful time we're living in as fans of beer. New England is just The place to be for beer right now. To think 10 years ago we were getting excited because Dogfish Head 60 minute was making it's way to Boston. Harpoon was a local darling, and a bar having Allagash was Nirvana.

Now we're arguing over who makes the best IPA in the world? Between THREE breweries?(I would argue that Maine Beer, Bissell, and Alchemist all deserve a nod as well). The fact that we, as consumers, can access these beers with moderate hassle is just a fucking dream come true.

No longer do we have to hope the goddamn Shelton Brothers grace us with a Cantillon drop, we can just get a nice sour from Hill Farmstead. If I want the best IPA money can buy I don't need to walk through a package store looking at bottled dates hoping that Stone shipment just came in; I can just walk to Trillium. Or drive to HF, or TH, or Maine Beer, etc.

10 years ago Boom Sauce would have been Ambrosia in New England instead of a joke.(Side note, had a draught of it at Lord Hobo from their most recent release and it's improved.)

Now I'm thirsty, and it's 11:45 and I'm stuck at work.

Unless the mods have been deleting posts then I have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. Treehouse themselves would be the first people to tell folks to prepare for the inevitable long growler lines, and the only mention of price has pointed out that Treehouse is generally the cheaper of the two. And this forum praises the efficiency of the Treehouse personnel so often that we should all be wearing knee pads.

Most breweries would kill to be receiving that kind of "bashing".

    *Edited to reduce snark*

Well said...except that you forgot Lawson's. Yes, it's even better than you said.

At a recent private tasting with two guys just back from Vermont and Treehouse respectively, we had: Green, Julius, Alter Ego from Treehouse, Bantam in a growler from Pro Pig, Double Sunshine and Abner in a growler. Yes, it was a good night.

The best explanation of these came from my friend who said, "You see beers and try to rate them. I see Bird, Magic, Jordan...they are different but all amazing, but there is no point in trying to say who is better".

Lawson's Double Sunshine remains the best beer I've ever had and therefore, by the logic of this community, all other beers are mediocre and not worth drinking and thus, since I almost never have ready access to Double Sunshine, I don't drink at all. Thank you for reading my post.

Yeah that was silly. Lawson's probably deserves top nod...I just haven't had the pleasure of having any of it since April so it's fallen off my radar. But your friend is absolutely right, we're at a point right now where so much of it is just unbelievable quality.
