Some people think it is funny to mention Sága in every thread. I don't get it, but whatever....

All I did was mention I saw a beer that people were interested in. The title of this thread is "Twin Cities Bottle Hunt", so the post was on-topic. I didn't praise the beer, nor purchase it (not a huge fan of Summit).

On behalf of all the Saga jokers, apologies for the inconvenience. Will try to be more informative and less super funny and ironic in the future.
However, if we fail at that, I'm guessing there's a way to block/ignore us, and achieve a signal-to-noise ratio more to your tastes. Because beer is serious.

According to Stones website we should be getting Stone & Sierra Nevada NxS IPA starting December 14th! I'll be looking out for this one.

No worries. You were providing information in a sincere and helpful manner, and were completely on-topic. Your contributions are appreciated.

It just turns out that most of the references to Saga made in the Midwest forum are made in a joking manner, which some people find funny and others have grown weary of. The general consensus is that Saga is a nice beer which is readily available locally at a great price and it has therefore become a yardstick for "value" of other beers for some people. From there, it has morphed into it's own joke, not necessarily suggestive of anything other than itself.

You can laugh at, ignore, or shake your fist at future Saga references you might encounter on the Midwest forum, according to your personal preference.

As all mothers would say "just ignore those Saga boys, the more upset you get the more you encourage them."

I probably should have caught that, but admittedly, missed it. I appreciate the clarification.

I'm not enamored with Summit at all, so I was wondering why all the love was there for it (probably should have been my first clue). Oh well, again, thanks for the background.

I will refrain from further posts about S_g_!

I have not seen any 2015 Abyss anywhere...I don't think it has arrived here yet. Should be soon; it seemed like it was about this time last year when it hit.

I think Abyss is supposed to be released around or after December 17th. I think there are 3 versions this year. Regular, rye whiskey, and cognac.10th anniversary of Abyss.

    Interesting. Here's more info:
    http://beerstreetjournal.com/deschutes-is-celebrating-10-years-of-the-abyss/

The short version is they will be ready when they are ready, the variants are super limited, but will see distribution.

Sid's in Bloomington has all of the lower end Alesmith bombers for $5.50 right now. They also had TG Light Speed and a couple of different Alpine bombers.

Hennepin Lake has Death by Coconut.

Ale Jail had Hotbox Coffee Porter from Oskar Blues. That's the first time I've seen cans of that around here.
