Afternoon everyone! I'm started off with this one to celebrate having the next 3 days off. Even though I have laundry and dishes to get done it's still great to be off. I also had a surprise meeting with @Shroud0fdoom this morning. Good thing he posts selfies once in awhile because we would have passed by each other without even knowing. Great to finally meet you Shroud!

Cheers and where is winter?! Having this one on the porch.

Like this beer, but wouldn't it better for it to replace the breakfast donut.

    Trying this 50 cent special.

Pours a clear pale straw straw color; 100% transparent; 3 finger head, no lace.

Smells like Pabst; it has corn, straw, barley syrup, adjuncts.

Taste has a touch of Euro style grassiness, but mostly stays within the North American realm of shitty lagers with corn, hay, pale malt, and light floral. Slight onion as well.

Feel is supremely crisp and clean, very carbonated, but painfully fills up the belly with foam and bubbles.

Overall impressions? I'd much rather reach for an old standby like Coors, Pabst, or Rolling Rock. I'll pass on this one next time.

It's a day off. Why not a breakfast beer?

Greetings BAs. Home from work and settling in for the day. Cracked open a Hipster Brunch stout. I haven't had breakfast or lunch yet so it seemed like the perfect brew. As I'm sipping I'm checking out the four dvds that arrived today, two film noirs and two silent films. With all the sales going on, this is the time of year I load up on movies.

    Happy Hump Day all....

We dropped the dogs off, did some shopping, and headed into downtown Portsmouth for the Imperial Pint Club party at The Portsmouth Brewery. Most of downtown was blocked off because of a fire next door at The Gaslight. After maneuvering around things, we found out the restaurant was open and the party was in full swing.

We went upstairs for the vegan sausage and I had Mahat Maria ale, a strong English ale with fenugreek and date palm sugar. An interesting beer.

Made with local polished rice. Not bad. Mostly water with a hint of floral hop. I've had much worse...

Dishes are done and laundry is started, time to clean out the fridge. Nothing spectacular but the Flying Dog holiday pack is worth it for the fig and fennel stout.

    Cheers!

This beer is as boring as the label. It's definitely not one of the better oatmeal stouts I've had and proof that even Toppling Goliath can lay an egg.

What I love about living in NJ right now is that these little artisanal businesses are really staring to gain traction. I can have Yirgacheffe coffee from Rook for breakfast...

Then I can have Yirgacheffe coffee for lunch. Let me add that this beer is on no trade radar looking at the forums, but it should be. I have no clue why this works, but it works so well. Carton SS Yirgacheffe...
