The Tulsa, Okla.-based brewery will be releasing Coffee Okie, an 11 percent ABV imperial brown ale that has been aged in oak whiskey barrels for six months and conditioned on coffee beans. The new beer uses Prairie’s Okie (12 percent ABV) as its base before adding the coffee beans, which were sourced from a “local Tulsa coffee roaster,” according to Wesley Morrison, brand ambassador for Prairie.

This is supposed to release this next week.

    Also saw this:

With Coffee Okie being released in December, we (Prairie) stocked the web store with these new Tush Push Mugs (that may or may not feature our signature dance move). They're the perfect glass for this upcoming beer. Get yours before they're gone!www.prairieales.com/shop

Okie is one of my favorite beers. Hopefully we'll see this in SC.

This showed up on Iowa shelves this week and I can confirm its deliciousness. Same price point as Okie, $10-11/12oz.

Any hints or clues on where it'll be in KC? I'd love to pick up a pack!

Definitely looking forward to this since Okie is one of my Top 3 beers from Prairie I've had this year. I may have to pick up one of those glass mugs too, because I can't think of a better way to drink a coffee forward beer.

If its 11% how did it get lower if the base beer is 12%? Curious. not trolling.

Coffee beers are always going to be lower in alcohol just based on the difference in the pH scale between Ethyl Alcohol (C2H6O), 7.33, & the general position on the scale of black coffee, ~5-6.
