we are entranched in stout season, and I was wondering do Brewers of these fine beers recommend drinking them at a certain temperature range? Clearly a regular refrigerator will be under ideal drinking temp. So what's proper or your take on stout temperate at first sip?

I drink every beer cold and just let it warm up. If i want it warmer ill leave it in a room that isnt heated. (Wood burning stove heat only effects rooms with doors open)

    Ex;

Boulder Shake is better to me colder

Ive had a smores stout that was better around 55°

All perspective that's why i let it warm from cold to see which temp i like more.

    Varies beer to beer.

I've had stouts that were better cold and others that were better quite warm.

I've been leaving it out of the fridge for 10 minutes before drinking stouts.

Like most beer, you should drink it the way you like it. For me, I like an initial cool sip from my stouts, but then let it sit and warm for a bit to enjoy the change in flavor.

55-60 degrees for me is ideal. I keep my stouts in the basement and not in the fridge so in the winter when the basement temps start to drop, the temperature is perfect. (It's an unfinished basement.)

Anywhere between 50 and 60 is fine for me. Between cellar and room temperature.

Let it sit out of the fridge for 2-3 minutes and then drink slowly to enjoy the diffence while it warms up.

Start at 55 degrees. Have an infrared thermometer to check it beforehand. Really helps me get the most flavor out of my stouts.

Most of my stouts are at 'cellar temp' which is just a temp controlled fridge that I set to 18C, and that just so happens to be room temp right now. The reason I set it to 18C is because the top of this particular fridge is colder than that. The stouts at the bottom are happy. Low abv stuff at top. Anyways...

I like my stouts pretty much around 15-18. I don't think they need to be any colder. Sometimes I'll stick them in the fridge for 15-20 mins, but they'll always warm up midway through the bottle. You lose way too much depth if you're drinking imperial stouts at regular fridge temp, which can be as low as 5C depending where in the fridge you put it. Have had plenty of 10%+ stouts at room temp and they're fantastic.

    Cheers! (...sips Abyss...)

Imperial Stouts I usually drink right off the shelf, which where I keep them is probably about 15-16 degrees C. I've also had them warmer and it doesn't bother me at all.

Very lightly chilled, but not close to room temp, for me that's too warm. Too cold they can be bitter and astringent. Id guess 50 degrees or so to start would be ideal.

I let them warm about 5 minutes, then drink it over the next 45 minutes to an hour. Try it, you'll be surprised how the flavor is affected.

I pull the bottle out of the fridge for 20-30 minutes. It tends to pull it up to around cellar temp then by the time I'm half way through its at room temp.

54 degrees per my handy little chart...I just sit it on the counter for 5 to 10 minutes to warm up before I open and enjoy!

Depends on gravity and ABV. For example FBS and Wake n Bake I like close to 50. BCBS or Parabola I drink closer to 60. I keep the thermostat around 61-63 so the thicker ones are pretty much room temp.
