I am chilling a Fort as I type. I drank a Higher Math last Saturday and enjoyed it completely. Big complex aggressive tasty beer highly recommend it. It your not a fan of thick mouth feel beers with an aggressive edge its not for you. DFH does big beer very well I have enjoyed WWS and D'extra also and I have a 2012 120 which will be more barleywine like now for another day. I come back to the thread with my impressions of Fort........ My east coast cohorts have been ranting and raving about Fort.

Fort was a very good beer you'll feel that ABV but not in an over barring in the taste because of the high ABV a solid B to B+ while I thought higher Math was B+ to A- both of which I would drink again the mouth feel of the Higher Math was just phenomenal.

I have a bottle of Higher Math sitting in my basement right now, to be opened soon. After reading all the reviews saying it's too sweet and syrupy and high ABV... I'm even more excited, those beers tend to be right on point for my palate.

I drank a higher math and initially rated it a 4 on untapped. As I continued to drink it, I would probably lower the rating to a 3. It got sweeter as I drank it, with very little chocolate on anything but the nose. I would be curious to see how it ages, I would imagine the sweetness would fade(drank a 2011 Fort earlier this year and the sweetness had faded considerably).

Fort I would drink again, and I usually hate raspberry.

Higher Math might show up again in someof my nightmares, but not my fridge

Seems like it's pretty much a love/hate for higher math.. I'm excited to try my bottle. Apparently next year's lineup of big beers from dogfish should be great, with WWS in the mix which I never had the opportunity to try yet.

I thought WWS was released last year? Maybe it has been two years since I saw it at my shop, but I didn't think so. Easily one of my favorite stouts. I'll have to grab a bottle of Fort next time I swing in.

So based on these replies, it seems like I probably would not enjoy Higher Math right now, because I do not like sweet beers (I hate BCBS fresh and WWS is too sweet for me fresh). On the other hand, it seems like Higher Math might be worth laying away for a few years. Most beers that start off too sweet generally improve and balance out in that department over time.

I enjoyed Higher Math for what it was, a self described chocolate-cherry cake inspired beer. That said, I am glad my bottle shop sold me an individual bottle so I didn't have to commit to a 4 pk. The wife and I shared it on her birthday (it's a cake inspired beer) after a nice dinner. That would be my recommendation for drinking it.

According to 'Thee Schedule" it will be released November 2016. We better be on the lookout! I'm sure that'll go quick

I managed to have Higher Math and Fort within a couple of Weeks at the Falls Church Alehouse. Higher Math was much sweeter to me, chocolate covered cherries was my first impression. And it stayed sweet throughout. I pair it with with a spicy Fajita for Dinner, so the sweetness and heat worked together. Not sure if I would have enjoyed it straight. Both Beers also have that nice heat feeling from the Alcohol when they warm up

The Fort on the other hand is great sipping alone, or with your significant other  While I get the strong fruit, raspberry taste in the first sip, it seems to mellow to a fine sherry later on. I do have a Higher Math Aging along with some Fort, so I hope to see what it will be like in a couple of years

I shared a bottle of Higher Math about a month ago (about the week after it hit distribution in my area) with friend, and we both thought that it was excellent for being such a high ABV beer. I was so impressed that I went and bought another bottle for the cellar to pop sometime next summer.

I am only chiming in to comment on WWS. Is this a beer that you guys are looking for? I feel like I can find it at almost any bottle shop around me (Wisconsin). I guess I assumed it was brewed with some regularity. I could grab and ship if anyone is actually looking for it...

    Cheers all.

Was actually really happy with Higher Math. My go to store would only sell singles at $9.99

grabbed a 4 pack today at a different store or 28.50

will drink one, save one, give a couple to buddies in trades

Higher math was great, fort was okay but not as good as 120.

All three were very good IMO with Fort being my least favorite. Higher Math was definitely something different, but I enjoyed it's unique taste. I would have to say D'Extra was my favorite of the three.

D'Extra was surprisingly good, IMO, and is the best of DFH's high ABV stuff by a good bit.

I still enjoy WWS and 120 quite a bit. I have still yet to get my hands on an Olde School, though.

Just drank my Higher Math. It tested my boundaries of sweetness (drank like cherry pie filling + booze); I'm venturing it is definitely too sweet for you to try fresh. I'm even contemplating aging my second bottle. For the sweet-sensitive I recommend aging it 'til DFH's 25th anniversary.
