I don't really know...I'll drink damn near any style at any given time of the year, however there's nothing like a stout on a cool fall or winter's evening. Although now that I have moved to Florida not sure how that's going to work out. Doesn't seem to get too cold; have to jack up the A/C I guess.

Rochefort 10 is one, SNPA is another. Pretty much opposite ends of the beverage spectrum, but a beer nerd gots to do what he gots to do.

@ovaltine beat me to it, but Rochefort 10 is a must for me, at least once a year. This is a world-class, wow moment beer that needs to be consumed, even by an IPA wh*re like me. Now I want one. The power of advertisement!!!

I am with you on that. I absolutely love Belgian brews but Tripels are on the low side of the ones I buy/drink. I prefer Dubbels and Quads.

(Light)AALs. Only time I drink them is when it's the only thing available on a boat.

At the price point and the availability as variables in the context of the quality of the beer, Rochefort 10 is pretty tough to beat.

AAL's. On rare occasions, mostly during summer, always with cookout fare. Nothing against this style; it's just that there are too many other styles I'd rather have.

Oyster stouts and pumpkin ales and generally not in the same session.

Barley wines, I'll go on a short Bigfoot kick every year, then that's it generally for the rest of the year.

Most all of the seasonal type beers are great for the reason they are and should remain seasonal. Those flavors, aromatics, etc. pretty much nail that part of the year. Same with barrel aged.

I only have barley wines two times a year and it tends to be during the winter-spring transition and spring-summer transition.
I use Belgium Quads as a reward beer for accomplishing biggish things.

Belgian Quads or Belgian Strong Dark Ale. I generally only drink them in December but I really like them. St. Bernardus Christmas and the like. I bought my first bottle of Delerium Noel last week and I can't wait to drink it on Christmas Eve.

Why not, indeed. 2 days without a Tripel and I get the shakes.

stouts for me. i don't dislike them and have tried plenty, but i don't like them enough to drink often. the only one i drink on a "regular" basis is old rasputin, god only knows how much of that i would drink if i liked the style. honorable mention for blackout, i usually drink a few of those when it gets cold but apparently PA cancelled winter this year.

For me, black ales and tripels. I enjoy them but wouldn't want to make it a steady diet.
