    I work a lot of doubles, drinking before work would not be smart on my end.

    About 40 or more years ago I had to paint a steeple on top of a bar we were building. One of the guys had a birthday and we took him to lunch and had several beers. After lunch I returned to the steeple, finished up in about an hour and then realized that I couldn't figure out how to get down. That cured me of drinking before or during work.

    Someone was bound to post it eventually. I can think of about 4 or 5 people this guy reminds me of.

    I have to be at work at 8:30am so having a beer before work has never crossed my mind. However I am not opposed to having a beer during lunch ocasionally. Session beers are great for lunch time. I don't like to catch a buzz and then go back to work it makes me feel restless and I spend the rest of the day looking at the clock hoping it moves faster.

    12 hours is too long for me. I leave for work at 7am, but I will drink the night before, often having one or two beers up to 10pm or so. Unless you're a pilot or drinking excessively, 6-8 hours is good, IMO.

    Rarely because it will make me groggy. I have to work at 9AM, but I wake up at 5AM so a very few times I will enjoy. I wish I could drink a beer at work. It would increase my productivity. :slight_smile:

    If I'm scheduled to work in the evening, after dinner, I may sometimes have a beer with said dinner. But even then that's pretty rare and I'm not sure that even counts.

    Yeah, I am the same way. Yesterday I felt really tired and needed an energy boost for my office party that evening so I drank a 4 Beans and got an immediate lift. So maybe drinking a beer with some coffee in it is the trick!

    i've done it before but it's not a habit.

    when my shift starts at 7/8/9am definitely not but i've a had a beer or two with lunch when my shift starts at 3/4/5pm. i'm perfectly capable of driving to work after 2 beers and lunch so it has no effect on my work performance. if anything it puts me in a better mood for my shift.

    I've been to bottle releases before work. I'll usually nurse whatever is being released if it's on tap. For whatever reason if I only have one beer I get a hangover-like headache so I have to be careful or I feel like shit the whole day
