Do you ever drink BEFORE work?

I've run into that at weddings and office parties.

 

You're telling me! That's why I always have a drink (or ten) when I fly!

Like I said in the during work post, my creditors (including my beer budget) like to get paid, so no. Plus drinking at 5 am is something I only do when watching sports is involved.

 

Got to work at 7:30 and the thought just doesn't appeal to me. Hell, I don't even eat breakfast.

I suppose if it floated their boat then I would pass no moral judgment on a person having a couple before work no matter what time it was, and to some extent depending on the nature of the work as well.

 

I'm retired and don't work so I don't have to worry about that problem.

 

I am currently working retail for the holidays and I'll drink something low ABV a few hours before I go on, just so I don't kill someone.

 

Yes, and I said no pickles on my double cheeseburger and you dropped the ball on that one so you may want to stick to water, big man.

Very rare for me to do so. Maybe once a year or two, tops, and only when I have a short day (2-8pm).

 

I have to answer crisis calls so beer is great, as soon as I have a beer I CAN'T answer my phone and work. So beer is how I don't work. Beercation!

But...we did have a company BBQ where someone brought in a homemade rum cake and the rum was definitely not baked in properly.

 

During the work day I may have one occasionally, but my "before" work usually translates to "5:00 am immediately before having to drive to Boston" so I don't think I've ever had the opportunity to indulge. To be honest though unless I'm on vacation or planning on spending the day tending to the grill/smoker I don't tend to want to drink that early in the AM (not that I have an issue with it, just my personal preference).

 

At my previous job I did once or twice, but my current job starts too early for me to want to.

 

Nope, if caught I'd lose my job and no beer is worth that. And besides, I'd enjoy it more after work and a job well done.

Car work no, too many busted knuckles and smashed fingers.

When i had my previous job i worked nights so if i was up early like 10-11 am id do it. but i didnt have to work until 6pm.

 

Different strooookes for different foooolks. It keeps my drinking (and therefore spending) in check.

 

I work second shift but rarely ever drink before going in. Maybe a couple of times a year I'll grab a glass of something in the early afternoon. It's always something rare or a limited release that I know will be gone if I wait until 11:30 p.m.

 

Never anymore. I used to delight in a daybreak showerbeer or two once every couple weeks in college.
