Got to Kane at 11:35, left my house in VA at 7:45, so under 4 hours up there, got my 2 sets, then met a buddy in the lot to hand off a bottle to him since he got shut out, and he also took another for another friend that got shut out. I got 4 growlers filled, Hop Lab Triple, Wheat lab, Overhead and Head High, pack up in the Yeti, then headed to meet 2 other buddies Asbury at Stone Pony for Lakehouse music benefit, had a beer, handed off 2 more bottles to those buddies who got shut out, then went to the biergarten in Asbury, lunch with my buddies, Drift Line, then up to Carton, met a someone from a FB beer page, talked with him, sat in the van, opened some bottles, on the road at 6:30 pm, back home at 10:30, long day. Looking forward to the Triple IPA now after reading about on here.

I didn't know or care really. I also didn't get involved in the online ticket purchase. I just know that, as evidenced on FB and to an extent on here, that these bottle releases have brought out the worst in beer nerds. Personally, I still wouldn't be posting pics showing I got two sets of bottles when others got no bottles at all, but I realize lthe world is full of all types, some of whom are over 21 but still act like juveniles.

Any chance ANTEAD or any of it's variants are made available for tasting at some point? I've been meaning to visit Kane for a long time and you guys have certainly piqued my interest in their Triple IPA as well.

They break out things like ANTEAD occasionally for samples. I had their 2014 at the anniversary party back in October.

Oh boy, here we go! Anticipating the lottery today, but even if I don't win, it should be a funfilled event. I can't wait to see what "unfair" entitlement comments are about to ensue... Let the fiasco begin. Anyone want to bet on what feed page we'll be on by the end of today?

I am curious what their plan is for the remaining bottles. I am sure they have an uneven amount to finish out these sets.

Hoping to get the 'You were selected' email, but for my 1 entry, it will probably be 'We're sorry'.

Well, hats off for sending in only one entry. Too many people in this hobby would push an old lady out of the way to get as many bottles of their prized possession.

I was hoping for the same.
There probably won't be a "I'm Sorry" email. I am going to keep checking here hoping I don't see a plethora of "I got selected " emails.

I wouldn't be the least surprised if they silently have bottles available at the brewery itself in upcoming weekends.

From talking to Mike at the release, the man just looked absolutely baffled by all the flack the brewery has gotten. I kept saying "locals feel entitled" and his staff just gave me a look as if to say "YOU THINK?!?"..

Truth is, the breweries fanbase ruined what was supposed to be a great moment for this establishment, cause of their "I support the brewery every weekend, not just once a year.. I should automatically be granted ANTEAD" angle. I live in CT and attend numerous releases from Treehouse drops to Dinner Release in Maine all the way up in Vermont for Hill Farmstead and I have to say, The Jersey locals scene is a fucking mess.. I have never seen behavior like that, in regards to beer.. I take that back, there was Huna Day 2014.. Absolutely fucking pathetic. What I enjoyed though, is when those very same nut jobs came out of their asses with "we're acting like this cause of love of the brewery and wanting to desperately acquire a set". These are grown ass men, defending childish behavior..

I told one employee "convince mike to shut down in jersey and move up to New England, where we know how to show appreciation.

Well said, agree with everything. Kane gets so much crap for their releases, I have never seen anything like it. Silent release: people complain, ticket system: people complain, pre announced: people complain. There is literally nothing they can do to make people happy, its sad.

That's one perspective. The other is that NJ in no way has a monopoly on embarrassingly entitled, fussy beer nerds. I see this behavior just about every release I go to. I literally started hating everything about this hobby while standing in line at Bullfrog a couple of releases ago.

But then I reminded myself that these people are a small (albeit loud and possibly growing) minority. And I recalled all the generous, good natured folks I meet in this hobby. And then I dome two BCBS and pass out.
