Marry, Screw, Kill is 2/3 complete. My "marriage" is scheduled for Saturday at noon MST before I leave for Indiana. It's likely the next round will have to wait till I'm back on the 30th. Get ready, I hear it's stone fruit season.

There's probably some low hanging fruit too. For example I assume Indiana gets Bells which doesn't make it to Mass. Maybe Great Lakes as well? I'd never be upset about a Black Note or even Expedition.

 

There's lots of Chicago breweries that could be considered "Local" despite not being in IN itself; Pipeworks, Revolution, and Half Acre are all awesome and don't travel too far.

 

Does the brewery that you frequent (Four Fathers) do growler fills? I certainly would not mind getting a growler of something that you personally like from them.

 

I've seen plenty of you mention having Fedex accounts for shipping so you get a discounted rate and the ability to print your own labels and schedule pickups for outgoing packages. Does anyone here use a similar option with UPS? I normally ship thru UPS, but always just drop off at the store. I guess if I was scheduling pickups, it wouldn't matter as much what company I used. Looking for info and recommendations either way.

I never thought I would be shipping enough to make the upfront cost worth it, but this year has been huge for me in beer trading. Super fun, but sad for my wallet.

Alright box jockey. I rarely admit defeat but you've done an insanely good job of breaking my will to receive boxes. HOWEVER! you remind me of a quote of a guy I respect but hate for turning the tides on the Michigan/MSU rivalry. This man once said, the pride comes before the fall. Just remember that!

For those of you that aren't in the 12 Days of Christmas thread I believe that @vitaminvert is my sender. He went out and recruited people to send me boxes ahead of time. Not only that but they are using someone else's name as the sender. So far I've had Ruckit send a box labeled as DWMetsfan, Mipper drop off a box labeled as from JNForsynth, Devman send a box labeled as DaveTreat, Andrew sent one with his own name on it!, Valrxman sent a box with GJokers name on it and finally yesterday ColdStorage send a box with PG2Gs name on it.

Andrew is crazy, but it's far from over.

They do howlers and I think they might fill other breweries growlers now but Id have to double check. They do have some good beers on tap usually and are starting to can and bottle more.

I just feel at times that I am not worthy of this group from the great beers I see flying around. I feel my boxes I send are good but others I see just floor me

 

Two people had checked into Launch beer. You and Dan. Dan's name was on the label which means it wasn't him. The place it was dropped off is closest to you. I have more but that's sufficient...

Man don't even worry about it. Some of these boxes are because some of us are, and have been, regular trade partners prior to Locals. Some people are just FUKING crazy. The premise of this group is local beer. Setup a blind trade with someone and send out local beer you like drinking. In my opinion the longer you're a member the more you get to know people and the more they know you. It's more than sending/receiving beer. It's about making fun of a clown due to his mustache or finding an idiot that lost his car and phone and ribbing him, etc.

Wouldn't it be amazing if I chose just 1 of the boxes to put the real senders name on? Not saying I did...but what if? Can you really be certain of ANYONE's denial?
