I hate to sound like an old grouch at my ripe young age but just this fall it seems like there are exponentially more people chasing trucks and getting to releases early just to trade away the bottles. CW Black Gold lasted a while, but 18 sold out in seconds. BA Darkness was gone everywhere immediately. BA Dangerous Man stout sells out in under an hour. I mean, come on.

I'm sure it'll be a matter of hours before people want kbbs and one-off cantillon for their BA Dangerous Man that no one has ever heard of. Not a lot of common sense being used these days. Not every random beer is going to trade like a TG stout. Don't worry though, I bet a few of our friendly BA's are listing bottles on CL and MBC as we speak.

I will be steering clear of any Dangerous Man releases in the future and will probably just skip the brewery all together when choosing my beer destination in NE. That was pretty pathetic of them to not at least assess the fact they have 100+ people in line before the doors opened and not adjust to a reasonable limit so more people could have access to the bottles. I mean it would only make sense to get this beer in more peoples hands than only have less than 100 people have any word on if it's worth going after next time.

Yeah, I got there slightly after 1:30 because that was the earliest I could. I was actually going with the expectation that they would already be out, and I don't necessarily blame the people that bought a bunch. It just would have been nice for DM to have a bottle limit, which based on the staff's reactions, I'm sure they will be doing next time.

I hadn't planned on going to the release so this is written with no butt hurt .
But seriously, How did anyone that works at Dangerous Man not be like "Hey, we sold out of 500 bottles (BA Milk Stout) / 1PP last year in 4 hours, don't you think a limit would be a good idea" Also, Dangerous Man knows the demand they recently expanded their growler shop /production, because they sold out of Growlers in like 30 minutes. Anyhow, good for them , they made $16,000 in less than an hour

Has Dangerous Man even made an imperial stout before?

It's times like these I'm glad I skip some of these releases. It's idiotic that DM didn't anticipate the demand for a BA stout. No limit...really? But what's even more idiotic is people hoarding multiple cases of a beer that no one has ever had before.

It doesn't matter. If I was opening a brewery, I would only brew BA imperial stouts and only have a few releases each year. I could save money by not building a taproom or even a brewery. I could contract brew it. Of course the BA stout bottles would be very expensive because they were so rare.

Dangerous Man put up a post on Facebook. They didn't expect the demand. They feel bad. And future releases will have limits.

Not exactly, but their chocolate milk stout, coconut(and imperial) milk stout, peanut butter porter are all pretty tasty, so many, myself included would assume that they could make a nice BA RIS

That post echoes what I experienced. They genuinely seemed surprised and felt bad that they ran out.

That's funny . The reply I got from them on twitter about my thoughts on their handling of the release was much more aggressive and rude but it was also immediately deleted.

That is a pretty big assumption. Adjunct milk stouts translating to BA RIS.

Not expecting the demand is a poor excuse. They should have saw the line and immediately had a bottle limit. If someone would have been mad because they couldn't get more than 4 or 6 or whatever bottle limit you decide, that's too bad. Most non-hoarding people would completely understand.
