Seen it locally (Twin Cities Edition)

Changing the tone, and back to the awesomeness of this thread idea: went to Butcher & The Boar last night with the wife, their beer garden is SICK! Had BB XXIV on tap, New Belgium / Alpine IIPA on tap, they also had the NB / Lost Abbey collabo, Lagunita's Lil Sumpin' Wild on tap as well as like 30 others. Plus the patio is great, lights of the city, etc... Anyways, "saw all these things locally" and thought you guys may want to give it a go...

 

I killed a number of tulips of Lagunitus LS Wild last night, damn tasty beer. Muddy Waters is pouring it now.

Stopped at 'Nova today and saw a single bottle of Brux on the shelf if anyone is looking for that one. Got some BA Boris too, although it sounds like that one might be gone now? There was still a bunch as of 1:00 today.

 

I saw some Frangelic Mountain Brown at Lund's new downtown location on 12th and Hennepin.

 

I keep seeing bottles at pretty blah stores. Knollwood Liquors had half a dozen bottles last week, which was the same number it had three weeks before that.

Hey guys after reading through this thread a couple days ago I got the idea to try and keep track of specialty beers that are on tap across the cities. I know, I know there are sites for this thing but a lot of us don't use them and I figured we could put togeter a list of what special things are on tap across the cities. Heres the link to the google doc. I will post a new thread and put it on my profile page.

Ground rules
1) Fill in the basic info What, where, and when you first saw it.
2) Keep the list in alphabetical order so we can find shit
3) When the tap is killed highlight the row in red and fill in the date
4) I will look at the list once a week and get rid of stuff that has been on there for awhile

If it works well, cool, if not I am sure it will die off. Cheers.

 

I like this idea, but maybe instead of by alphabetical order, keep it chronological (newest at the top) -- that way, it saves you time of having to go in and delete stuff (if it's at the bottom and 2 months old, then going to hunt it down is at your own risk) -- if folks do go and try to find something on the list and it's no longer there then that amazing advocate could go onto the spreadsheet and delete it. Thoughts? This is a solid idea!

 

Blackout was already dead at the Gnome when we stopped by last night. Sad face.

Only working part time and no class has quickly overcome me with boredom.

 

At his buds store, there is no super secret friends group. Every special release goes on the shelf. They did not get cantillon this round. Though all previous special releases are 15% off now.

 

I know its been said before, but Fury is 7.99 at Liquor Barrel New Brighton, all day, everyday. Great deal if you are in the area. They typically have a bunch of other craft on sale as well. They had all Founders at 6.99 there a couple weeks ago. Probably not worth it to drive out of your way to save 2 bucks, but if your buying a case, it adds up.

 

Still plenty of Black Butte XXIV at the Edina Liquor on York. They've also got the new Stone 16th Anniversary.

 

That beer is tits.

 

Damn I will be at the Surly tour on Saturday from 3-6, wonder if I will be able to make it to try some Surly Three???
