But back to this jelly bean beer you speak of? What style was it and was it any good? If I had to guess, did the brewers use the jelly beans in place of candi sugar in a belgian or saison?

I'm looking forward to 5 Beans. The 4 Bean version was outstanding!

Just had 4Beans, impressive. If I could get in CA on a regular basis I would buy it.

Hard to say what "style" it was because it had jelly beans in it. But that's why it was probably at the Extreme Beer Fest. That year I actually tried a beer that was aged in a Tabasco Barrel. Wild stuff!

I don't think you could use jelly beans as a substitute for candi sugar. Its not nearly as fermentable and you'll probably end up with a gummy mess in your brew kettle.

It will be a while - we are going to start small. :-)

curious - were you able to get that in a trade?

I can wait. I have a regular supply coming from VA and SC. I spend more om your beer a year than any other. I am happy now but will be much happier when you hit town. Just got some Global Warmer from SC. That is some good stuff. Not sure why I am drawn to what you brew but I am glad you do what you do.

I can bump the endorsement up, but only if distribution is immediately made to my front door!

When do we expect this to hit distro? I grind up cardamom with my coffee beans every morning so this is just delightful. In VA so we see a pretty good amount of @Sixpoint

do you think a 6-pack would be better for this beer, or a 4-pack (12oz cans as usual)...?

a 6pack would be more expensive than a 4-pack (but then again you are getting 50% more beer)

we would be looking at $15.99-17.99 for the 6pack

FWIW my initial vote is for a 4-pack of this beer considering the economics. Having stated that the 'issue' is the price the retailer uses. It may seem that 4-packs may be commensurately cheaper but in Pennsylvania the retailers utilize a FU factor when it comes to 4-packs. They seem to view the 4-pack format as a functional equivalent as a 6-pack and use the 4-pack and there pricing structure as a means to optimize profit.

Given that I live in Pennsylvania I will rescind my initial vote and say 6-pack. That is my final answer.

    Cheers!
