    No, not the racehorse...

I know many American breweries have made lambic-esque beers, but anyone know if someone has made a US spin on a faro? It's essentially a moderate to heavily pre-sweetened lambic.

Just curious as there aren't many Belgian faros listed on BA to begin with.

If it's not a very popular Belgian Ale, I doubt American Brewers would attempt it. Not saying there are a few out there not to take up the challenge. Yet, commercially speaking it's not what is "in" at the moment. I'd love to see Allagash or Almanac versions though.

Judging the style from the lindenmans version, which I think is the only one most of see anyway, I'm OK with there not being any American faro's.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Gose and Berliner Weisse weren't exactly that prevalent not to long ago. Maybe Faro will be the next "hip" style (double dry-hopped with Brett, of course).

I've never seen anything like that but you just gave someone a good idea for a beer name.

I'm drinking one right now. It's called Ommegang Rosetta. Maybe not totally like a Faro, but definitely more like that than a Flanders Oud Bruin which it's supposed to be...

You know what this post reminds me? That @corby112 has posted a lot of reviews that I've enjoyed..even before my BA daze....

I had a Rosetta and liked it. Haven't seen it since or I would have some at home now.
Thanks for the reminder, as I need to search for it more.

Thanks a lot! I took a long break from entering reviews but recently started up again. I have a pretty large backlog but hopefully I'll catch up sometime soon. Cheers and happy holidays!!

Aye! I need to get back at that review bug as well. It's coming back, slowly but surely. Happy Holidays to you as well!

Good to know at least one US brewery gave it a shot. While certainly not the most popular style in Belgium, I wouldn't be shocked if more Faro was consumed than dry/traditional lambic.
I'm going to have to bring this up with some of the local CO wild ale producers and see if someone else will give it a try.
