Just cause I can- I'm out on the deck again. Popped this beer with my feet up, closed my eyes, and pretended I was in a Florida Christmas for a few minutes...... Ahhh[IMG]

What the h-e-double hockey stick, let's finish Christmas Eve off with a bang. I tried to talk Little O into Christmas BOMB!, but he insisted on the original. This is truly world-class. Enjoy the rest of your Christmas Eve, BA's.

Good evening BA, Merry Xmas Eve. 3rd annual holiday cellar cleanse has begun. I brought 5 6 packs of assorted things with me. Starting off:

Excellent IPA. Flavors of huge apricot, mango, melon, grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, lemon zest, orange peel, and pine hops; with some moderate honey/toasty/bready maltiness, and herbal/grassy hop earthiness. Good sized pine/citrus rind bitter finish; with lasting hop resins on the mouthfeel with no lingering astringency. Light touch of creaminess as well. Just all around delicious with a ton of great hop complexity!

Always amazing. Just have 1 left to drink, then I can get a fresh pack before I go home. Bright hop flavors of tangerine, grapefruit, pineapple, peach, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, and pine; with some light honey/caramel/bready maltiness; and a balanced sticky/resinous hop bitter finish. Nice amount of dryness. I think I might prefer this over Head Hunter now for my Ohio IPA favorites.

2014 edition, didn't get any this year due to no state distro. WOW!!!! Huge milk chocolate, cocoa, coffee, vanilla, fudge, toffee, bourbon, toasted oak, and light coconut. Some noticeable dark fruit/molasses notes are present now as well, that weren't there fresh. Light roast bitterness and bourbon/oak spice; with a bittersweet creamy/silky medium-full bodied mouthfeel. Damn this is fantastic after a year of age now. All of the flavors have better balance/integration, and the mouthfeel feels much more creamy/silky than my review notes state. I hope it reaches distro next year.

3 year old Blackout. Tasting really excellent! Big flavors of milk chocolate, cocoa, coffee, toasted dark bread, caramel, brown sugar, and lightly nutty maltiness; with some light-moderate notes of raisin, plum, and licorice complexity. Bittersweet balanced finish; with medium-full bodied creaminess and light roasted malt chalky/stickiness in the mouthfeel. A very classic tasting Russian Imperial Stout to the standard English style. Delicious fresh or aged. I re-reviewed this same vintage a year ago, and it is still has a lot of the same complexity it had then. Zero notes of oxidation or other detrimental character.

    Cheers!

Nothing says Christmas Eve quite like a nekkid Russian Brown bear. Really enjoying this Nikolai Vorlauf IRS from Funky Buddha's Little Buddha Small Batch Series. Hope all of you have a great holiday, cheers...[IMG]

... and this one seemed appropriate. Had it at brewery last year as a part of their "full metal jacket" flight, figuring it'd be something to get through (not a huge winter warmer guy). But actually liked it fairly well. So when I saw the bottle around here recently, I said, why not? Plus it was brewed on my mom's birthday (about a month ago).

Marley's Lament, Christmas Ale with spices. Spices work really well with this - I'm guessing red ale. Light berry-like sweetness with cinnamon and nutmeg, maybe some clove. Maybe a tad light in body, but that's actually a good thing for me now, right after dinner.

    FRESH HOP 2015
    CITRA PILS

    BEER STYLE: Single-hopped pilsner
    ALCOHOL BY VOLUME: 5%
CHARACTERISTICS: Bright and citrusy fresh hop flavor in an experimental German-style Pilsner. Brewed with 100% whole cone Citra hops.

Saw this at the grocery store today. Fantastic take on a Pilsner. Love the Citra Hops in this. Cheers!
