I'm pretty sure they want you to pick up any 2015 beers by March 31st even if you continue your membership. At least I always get the reminder email even though I have continued.

I'm sure if you're from out of state and you have like 5 bottles waiting you could contact them and work something out... you could also get a trustee to hold them for you if necessary.

It's the only Bruery beer that I've thought was gross.

Opened one of my 8 Maids-A-Milking because...Christmas. It wasn't bad but wasn't anything special either. It was extremely sweet and relatively thin and creamy despite good carbonation. Definitely tasted some hop some bitterness in there. I didn't get much from the Belgian yeast. Not a favorite style for me and not one I have a ton of familiarity with but I'm guessing this is pretty true to style. I'm hoping this one ages nicely, with the yeast coming a bit more forward and the sweetness fading.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays everyone.

Did a 12-15 blind vertical tonight.

Everyone liked the 14' the most and 15' came in last of everyone but one. 12-14 were very similar but 15' was noticeably different from the rest. Thinking it needs a bit more time to develop.

    Merry Xmas

Any $.02 on the '15 White Chocolate yet?
I saw one post and someone thought they detected that unsavory tartness. Hoping that's just a bad bottle.

We opened a bottle of 15 last weekend. The 3 of us couldnt drink it, something was off in it. Maybe over carbonated? Maybe infected? Maybe we have horrible pallets? I could not pull one flavor out of the glass I had poured from the bottle and the others said there was something up with it as well. Maybe its just the bottle we opened?

Had it at the tasting room last weekend. Not sure if they were doing bottle pours or had it on tap though. It was the most I had enjoyed it since the 2012 release. Thought it tasted just like it should.

We ran this most recent batch of White Chocolate through our newly installed flash pasteurizer and it got the green light from our lab before we released it, so the risk of bottles turning sour is extremely low. If you experience a bottle that tastes sour or infected, please let us know!

    Cheers,

yeah i was gonna say.. they held releasing WC until the pasteurizer came in, no way the bottles are infected!

I had it on tap (or maybe it was bottles, not sure what they were pouring out of at that moment) at SMM and it tasted awesome. A little bit darker in color and had a bit more of a caramlized sugar flavor to it but otherwise it was White Chocolate. Really tasty, considering the only time ive had it before was on tap like 2 years ago, and then 1 infected bottle from last year.

Well here is a video of another person I know pouring his down the drain. He said it tasted horrible, possibly due to over carbonation. Again I am just speaking of my own personal experience and not generalizing in any way.

What sort of positive change do you think is going to happen to the 2015 batch? Having had every batch of SitR both fresh and at varying ages, they've never displayed any large or fundamental changes over time. The 2015 batch's flaws were a lack of carbonation and too much acetic character, neither of which is going to improve with time. I'd love to be wrong since I've got a few more bottles, but it's been packaged for 8 months now and hasn't shown any improvement. I think they just missed the mark with it, trying to rush it out to launch Terreux, as they did with a few of the other sours from the first half of the year.

Thoughts on this month's allocations for those who might still be curious:
BA 7 Swans - Found it to be very disjointed, big light fruit character up front (apples and pears) with bourbon and heat on the back. Flavors might integrate over time but it's not what I want out of a BA quad.

Chocolate Salty BBLs - Pretty much Chocolate Rain Lite. Salt character is almost non-existent and without the salt, it lacks anything to set it apart. If you're a big CR fan, you can get 80% of the CR character for 60% of the price, so I guess that's a plus. Disappointing as a mystery beer.

Chronology 18 - Good, but borderline overbarreled. Some pretty strong woody notes coming through and quite hot. I think the concept peaked at Chron12 but some people will probably really like this.

Elements of Funk Brett Claussenii - Good Bretted saison with a nice level of acidity for how young it is. Not exceedingly complex but super drinkable and likely to show some interesting evolution over the next 6 - 12 months.

Humulus TrIPLe - Second best hoppy beer the Bruery has ever produced, behind Humulus Lager. Doesn't stand up the top tier IPAs, but tasty in its own right and worth buying if you're going to drink it fresh.

Juggling Walruses - Poor man's Consecration, I didn't find anything to dislike about it (on draft at least, haven't opened a bottle), but I also wasn't particularly impressed with it. I think Wine Barrel ToD alone would've been more interesting, but that wouldn't use up any Anniversary barrels, so scratch that idea...

White Chocolate - About 90% as good as the 2012 batch, doesn't quite have that same explosion of white chocolate flavor but it's close enough to be worth buying. I didn't detect any tartness or off flavors out of the bottle, so whoever did was either incredibly unlucky or is mentally projecting.

Im going with incredibly unlucky as I never had the 2012 and went into tasting it with super high hopes of this amazing beer. My luck has been bad though lately with the weekend before opening an infected Modern Times 7 Year Rye bottle. :slight_frown: Next time its on tap I will try and get in for a taste so I can at least get another chance at it.
