    Hi all,
I live in NorCal and have been trying as many IPAs as possible. Recently, I got into trading and have gotten my hands on SoS, HT, Treehouse IPAs, Trillium, etc. Until then, I thought Pliny was the best DIPA I would ever get my hands on. However, the sweet, juicy flavors of the Northeastern brews have blown me away. Are there any IPAs/DIPAs on the West coast that come close to the flavors of NE IPAs?

Really? Cellarmaker is in SF and makes beers as good or better than all those you've listed.

I've always considered Lagunitas Sucks to be pretty juicy.

Cellarmaker does make some pretty juicy IPAs. (I really enjoyed Otto's Jacket recently.)

But as far as beer that you can get apart from the brewery, I thought Modern Times City of the Sun was really tropical fruit-forward and juicy.

I'm a big RR fan but sos and city of the sun were pretty juicy. Nothing beats younger when we are talking IPA's IMO

If by juicy you mean hoppy and bitter...I'd say most of them. Head east for juicy

The Big Whig IPA? Or does Noble Ale Works make something called Tounge Tickles?

Juicy? What does that mean? Under-attenuated/sweet? Not very bitter for an IPA? More fruit and less onion/dank/pine/spicy?

^^^This. Also Societe (The Coachman was such an incredible peach bomb). Fieldwork is making super tropical IPAs. And as thuey said there are some exceptional juicy IPAs coming our way from Modern Times. Beachwood is beginning to show up at City Beer Store. Soooo, yea I don't think you have to look far, definitely not all the way to New England!

Not sure most of you know what a juicy IPA is.

Oh for sure. Still waiting for Boneyard to make it to the Bay Area with regularity...I won't soon forget my growler or RPM or when I stumbled upon it on tap in Seattle.

Union Jack is the juiciest I've had. It feels like pure peach juice on the tongue.

I view this as an existential IPA question. West Coast IPA's are piney, bitter, with a very light malt presence, and finish dry. The East Coast IPA's I've had have more fruity hop character, a tad bit sweeter with more malt presence and lack the dry finish of the West Coast style.

West Coast is my preferred style, but I don't discriminate when it comes to IPA's.

So I'm not sure it makes sense to try and find East Coast style IPA's here, when by nature, we in the West Coast have our own benchmark style that we love.

However if you are looking for new IPA's that break the West Coast style mold and are local, folks have already listed some great brewers. I would start with Cellarmaker, they are amazing and all of their offerings impress....
