The list has been updated again and unfortunately we add one more to it.

    BA: SpottedZombie

Trade with caution. Not trustworthy and doesn't ship back.

(I use to write these on my profile but since that the function was disabled, I will now be posting them this way.)

Keep it updated. I think the problem is with new traders that aren't aware of the list and get into trades they shouldn't. Maybe they could implement something in Beer Trading 101 where traders have to read certain things ( this being one of them) and check a box stating that they are aware of the list. Then if they trade with a bad trader anyway shame on them and no thread about how they were taken advantage of.

I respect the bros decision but they don't want to be a part of it.

Yeah the problem with new traders is that they usually have to ship first and some people take advantage of that. At least with these updates (if they see them) they can follow a bit more.

I would love a "like" feature in the bottom right hand corner of every BA that stays there to accumulate successful trades or denote a bad trading experience.

I keep the bad trader list linked in my profile. I want to see it get as much exposure as possible.

Now I hate bad traders, d'bags and the like as much as the next guy but a ********* comparison might be where we have to take the foot off the gas pedal a bit my man

I like the BT list and appreciate the effort but what's stopping these people from opening a new account and just starting over?

Diligent research and a stringent vetting process.

Maybe, but unfortunately I don't think it would be that hard for someone to a) create a new BA profile b) make up a name to ship to and c) possibly even use a different shipping address.

I think this risk can be mitigated by asking people without references or a history ship first.

EDIT: missed the part above about how new traders were the target of some bad (established) traders.

I really like this idea. The bros don't want to be the ones to persecute a "bad trader" because of the legal repercussions. Instead, what if we keep it strictly positive? We could have a "good trader" button/statistic in everybody's profile page for other people to +1. Or at least something similar so that the Bros can be involved in using the site to help and also they wouldn't be liable for the butthurt over a "bad trader" button.

Yep, same here. I think everyone who trades should put it in their profile.

Mmmmm... craft beef. Time to start cellaring my filets...

All seriousness though, making the Bad Trader/Dick Move list markedly visible to the trade forums would be awesome.

That would be useless without negative feedback. A bad trader almost always has a few good trades before going bad, so they'd have positive feedback, it'd just be old. They could just say that they were on a hiatus and continue to rip people off. It might actually be worse than nothing, since people would trust someone with a reasonable number of +'s.

The Bros have contemplated adding real feedback before, even going as far as saying that there's a module they can add to the new forums that would get most of the way there. I can't remember why this didn't happen, but it was definitely discussed.

Feedback on profiles would be the best way to go. Not long ago, i've gotten reports of a bad trader but after looking into it, i realized the guy was already on the list so not everyone see this list.

It doesn't stop anyone from starting a new account but it's a begining.

A feedback system is planned, according to the Bros., though its likely far down the list in terms of importance with all the other updates. I believe that with this new system, they were going to do something about BAs already considered bad traders via your list. Maybe someone on a computer can track down the update thread a long while ago where they mentioned this info...

I like the updates, and I think it would be a great idea if we all posted bad trader thread titles the same way so they were easily searched out. So for your updates, something like:

Bad Trader List Update: (name of bad trader)

And for the rest of us:

Possible Bad Trader: (name of possible bad trader)

It's impossible to search them while everyone is coming up with different thread titles, some of which don't even include the words "Bad Trader."

Yeah I should always use the same name to make them easy to find.
