I am thinking about a beer tasting with an "apple" theme. The apple can be anything like cider, mead, etc. I like to mix barrel aged stuff in with some more basic stuff (would be great if its distributed to Ohio). I don't know anything about ciders. Would love to find another big barrel beer. Not interested in sours (although a little sour complemented with sweet might be OK). Here is what I have so far. Would like to add at least 4 more.

    American Grudge (Rushing Duck)
Apple Brandy Cold North Wind (Port Jeff)
    Apple Pie mead (Brothers Drake)

I haven't had it in years, but I always enjoyed Unibroue Ephemere.

I wonder if I can find that on my next trip to Boston since it is brewed in NY.

Epic has an Apple Saison that's pretty tasty, and definitely appl-ey.

Cape May Brewing Company here in NJ brews one called Apple Bomb. It's available in bottles now

Epic Sour Apple Saison is the only other one that comes to my mind right away

Hardywood Apple Brandy Gingerbread Stout just came out. It's 10.4% if you are looking for a higher abv. It's an imperial milk stout aged in apple brandy barrels.

On a related topic, there are craft ciders that use ingredients and/or techniques traditionally found in brewing beer, like additions of bittering hops, dry-hopping, fermentation with different brewing yeasts (e.g. Belgium, German, etc.), barrel-aging, souring, and other additions. I know you can find some of these ciders in Citizen Cider's and Woodchuck's portfolios, but I'm sure there are other cideries with similar offerings. Personally, I generally prefer the beer versions, but it can be interesting to throw the occasional cider in the line-up to mix things up.
