    Morning BA!

    Raising my Old Foghorn to Anchor Brewing.

    I had been looking for an excuse to pick up some Old Foghorn, and this seemed like a good opportunity. Certainly not disappointed. This is a solid barleywine for sure.

    I also really like the reminder on the cap to use an opener. No twist offs here, baby!

    Good Morning BA, happy Wednesday

    One of my favorite milk stouts, just got a 4 pack yesterday. Big flavors of milk chocolate, cocoa, vanilla, strawberry, cream, caramel, toast, light coffee, and light herbal/floral hops. Balanced bittersweet roast and earthy hops; great creamy/silky medium bodied mouthfeel and smooth finish. Always excellent stuff!

    Amazing as usual! Big flavors grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, mango, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, and pine; with some light honey/bready malt balance and floral/grassy hop earthiness. Good sized pine/citrus rind bitterness; nice dry finish with a sticky/resinous mouthfeel and no lingering hop or pith astringency. Glad this is in MI now, I will be getting this fairly regularly now. I already bought the habenero one a few time too. So delicious!

    This years batch is tasting incredible! Huge flavors of caramel, brown sugar, molasses, toffee, raisin, fig, date, vanilla, bourbon, toasted oak, and light pepper. Balancing bourbon/oak spiciness against sweetness; with a great creamy/silky and lightly slick medium-full bodied mouthfeel. A bit of bourbon barrel booziness; but still extremely smooth sipping for 12%, with a pleasant warming on the finish. This is one of my favorite easy to get BBA beers. Glad they put it to 4 packs as of a couple years ago, same with night tripper.

    Always fantastic, fresh batch. Huge flavors of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, and piney hops; with moderate malt sweetness of caramel, brown sugar, toffee, and toasted bready malts; with floral/grassy hop and yeasty earthiness. Good sized pine/citrus rind bitterness; with moderate hop stickiness and light-moderate slickness in the mouthfeel. Fresh it tastes nice and hoppy as a strong ale, similar to stuff like Arrogant Bastard; aged it takes more of a Barleywine type impression. Love it either way.
