Yeah, I know. Charlie Gitto's was always a favorite of mine when I was staying in St. Louis.

I envy you guys that saved their Iris for New Year's Eve. I drank a few a few years ago....I should've saved one.

Brett IPAs will do that kind of thing, @Moonshae_D . This one took me two pours to get it like this:

It's really aggressive and intense up front, but once you settle into it some really cool flavors develop (floral, herbal, woody)...

    Happy NYE, BA!!!

I've really been diggin' the old proto-punk stuff on YouTube lately. This one really brings Cheetah Chrome's style to mind-

The new Montage Variety Pack from Odell just hit the local shelves and starting things off with this years version of their Wolfpicker Pale Ale. While I am not usually a fan of herbal qualities from hops, this beer definitely has that quality going on strong and I am loving it.

woke up at 10:15am then went fishing with my dad and his/my cousin from 11am-4pm.

in total we pulled out 6 rainbow trout. the first 3 were good sized fish, not monsters but not babies. decent ~12" trouts then this beast...

24 inch rainbow out of a nice hole on the South Branch of the Raritan. behind some houses in a residential area, some amazing beaver chews as well on every tree on the bank.

    just for size comparison

and one last photo of myself with today's haul. great way to end the year! grilled trout and smoked trout are amazing.

and the marks on the side of the big rainbow are what we think are eagle marks. we always see eagles flying through that area, beautiful sight. maybe the white marks are claw marks, i don't know. i DO know that NJ has some great sights. people may dump on our state for everything under the sun but some parts of this state are just beautiful. if you lived in my county you'd understand. Hunterdon County baby

    anyway, on to the beer!
    first one of the day/night!

pretty good, i got a variety pack of Anchor yesterday and am looking forward. had this beer before but it was wayy old and it is good now! gonna play some FIFA and kick back.
