Im really liking Supariilo. I do agree its a bit boozy. I think a week or two in the can and this will be even better and really shine.

Let's be honest, Other Half needs to get a handle on these can releases. Their releases have gotten progressively worse throughout the year culminating with Street Green. At the street green release, and afterwards with an email, I brought to the owners attention: Parking, Drinking in line, cutting, the need for tickets/wrist bands, limits changes, etc, and they assured me they would look into all of it and improve it for future releases. Today just reinforces the fact that they have not addressed any of the issues that have made their releases become increasingly hard to stomach. I went to Treehouse yesterday instead of the OH release today because I knew that drinking in line, line cutting, and last minute limit changes wouldn't be an issue at Treehouse. I'm very happy with my decision, because there was NO line cutting, NO drinking in line, and NO awful behavior. OH hasn't taken a proactive approach to addressing any of their issues, and people are happy to get wasted in line, leave bottles/cans everywhere and park in McDonalds with no regard for consequences.

Honestly, its embarrassing at this point. I'd rather drive 3 hours to treehouse to get fewer cans than go 1 hour to Other Half because of how bad it has gotten. Other Half did some very exciting things this year, but they really need to get a handle on their releases, there is no excuse for it anymore. After 4 trips from New Jersey in the last 6 months to OH, I won't be back in 2016 unless they figure it out, and make some improvements.

Beer is good, but I applaud your stance.

Good stay home then more beer for me. No release system is perfect, people will complain whenever they miss out. (I did it for antead) Yes a lot of people drank on line but I didn't hear anyone being obnoxious or disorderly. I think sharing some beers in line makes a release fun is passes time you share good beers and meet new interesting people. That's if you're doing it right. As for the parking. It's NYC anything that has to do with driving or any sort of private transportation sucks.
Now the line cutters.... They can go to hell, no excuse for that other half has a security guy there at every release. Same guy every time

Don't be such a prude. Parking is not their issue. Drinking in line is not their issue. I don't condone drinking in line. I like to think that if drinking in line was subdued and mostly kept in check, everything would be fine, but any drinking makes it that much more likely people become a nuisance to the neighborhood. With that said, it's not an issue they're going to resolve. If they need to hand out bands to prevent cutting, fine, they could, but this isn't really a huge issue either, more of a small annoyance. We're all sensitive to that person who has to find parking (because of the first issue mentioned here) and drops off a pal to stand in line. It's too hard to split hairs on all these situations. If OH wants to release wristbands or such at some point, sweet, but I don't think the stakes are that high. All of their beer is usually obtainable around town or at the brewery via growler.

Sounds like you're happy with your choice, move along! If you decide at the end of the day you want some OH cans, I'm sure you would have more than a few options to trade locally with those Tree House cans.

On an unrelated note, I'm unnerved that their Beermenus tap list was updated in the future, 1/1/16.

And, what's the word on Super Nugget?

Parking sucks there. I got there early today and got one of the few spots on the street. It's probably going to take people getting ticketed or towed to stop the McDonald's thing. They have signs all over saying it's for customers. Only real safe options are getting lucky with street parking, the subway or using an app like Parkwhiz. There's a garage about a ten minute walk from OH that usually runs about $15 for parking.

Some good points made in this thread. Unfortunately there is an element of people that park where they shouldn't park, cut the line, hire mules, drink illegally in the line, hoard beer, grab every last can just to trade, buy the beer just to be cool and post on social media, etc that are ruining it for the people who truly love the beer. Hopefully sooner or later this will pass.

Don't blame Other Half for the bad behavior of some the masses.

Parking doesn't suck there, if you think you are going to park on the block, you are sadly mistaken. Spots to be found in the neighborhood with a minimal amount of effort.

Maybe they should build a drive up window so people can drive up and grab a couple of cases.

Having watched OH grow this past couple years I am really happy to see the notoriety and attention they've received for cranking out some legit IPAs. I like cans like everyone else but simply wont line up for beers i can get on tap literally all over the neighborhood. Plus the fact that you can get growlers for muuuuuch cheaper in my area means I'm officially out of can releases. I'm perfectly happy stopping by on a thurs night for a pint and listening to some Wu Tang...and not waiting in line/getting elbowed for a spot at the taproom line. Everyone chill out its just fuckin beer...line up early or just sit it out.

Where are you getting growlers for much cheaper than cans? Which beers?

OH growlers are more expensive onsite than basically any other location. Just to name a few...st gambrinus, covenhoven and prospect beer works--they all fill growlers for cheaper than OH. Basically every beer OH puts out in cans (including street green) was available in growlers

Parking should be a non issue. Anyone can easily park a few blocks down on court and feed the meter $2 for 2 hours.

Hell...you don't even have to feed a meter in a lot of places around that area. Just walk a block or two.

while i like treehouse slightly more than OH I think its utter nonsense to state that OH beers are 'watery'.
