What beer are you drinking now? #1167

At mom's house in Charleston, WV, and trying a new beer from Charleston, SC - Palmetto Brewing Co.'s "Althea", a barrel aged Russian Imperial stout at 10% and 87 IBUs:



A well balanced stout, subtle roast and bitter sweet chocolate, no barrel or booze though...happy new year!

 

Wusthof knives are excellent knives!! Well crafted, sharp, and durable! So Germany may just be that!! Cheers ma'am!

I missed the parent comment. You seem like a good son. I have two grown daughters but no son. Not to gross you out but if I had a son like you I would be proud. Your parents have been blessed.

 

Back to the DIPA's and a recent target of opportunity purchase. I like Heady alot, I'm just not willing to stand in line for it. Sometimes you get lucky.

 

Been wanting to try this one for at least a year or two. I would not have guessed that this is 13% if I didn't know beforehand. The flavor is opening up a lot more as it's warming

 

Beer Advocates!!! I hope everyone is having a pleasant night and is ready for 2016...eh 2016....SO, here I am with a little meal consisting of all the food I received today at work: some tortilla wraps with what I'm guessing is potato and something else, a couple sandwiches with I think turkey or chicken with spicy dijon mustard and who knows what else, beef stroganoff, something that has herring and a bunch of other things, a pickle and potato and egg and I think ham salad, a slice of what smells like banana bread, a couple pieces of candy, all being eaten with Founders Project Pam. I already took a gulp and wow! I really like this one

Edit-(I thought it was chicken stroganoff but now that I've started eating it, it's BEEF!!! Yay!)

I'm looking forward to the part where Columbo does...well...all the stuff he does in every episode!

 

That is a black beer! Some of them have an interesting blend of flavors. I have not had this one but I probably should give it a try.

For a born and bred American, my Teutonophilia is off the charts. It's practically treasonous. But I can only go as far as the knives with you, in this case. These days, our good ole U.S. of A. certainly seems to be the best place in the world for beer. (But I'll be damned if I don't open mine with a properly designed German bottle opener!)

On to the next Stout... First of this one even though it is only 30 minutes away. First impression is not a bad stout. Didn't grab me but will see how she develops.

Well didn't think Sparty had the tools to Roll with the Tide but hoped they could....Guess I was proved right. any good movies on?
