I'm guessing we'll get an email by the end of the month and the party will be in Sept.

Surprised this hasn't been posted here yet. We got 2 emails, the second updating the next release to Oct 18th. See you there!

    Members!
I know it has been a bit since my last email, and people are getting antsy about our next release. I apologize for the extended delay. I have been inhaling concrete dust for the last few weeks, and now with that terrible portion of the Michigan buildout hopefully behind me, I am ready to announce the next release event!
THE DATE: I was trying to make this a late September event, but it turns out GABF is taking up a large portion of that month, and the owner of Aquanaut is having his wedding there on another weekend. So it will come to pass that Sunday, October 11th will be the next Transient Bottle Release! (barring anything significant hindering those plans)
EXTRA BOTTLES: Of course, I will get you more specifics as the event gets closer, and when we know what beers/quantities will be available. Just like last event, we will work with The Beer Temple for the sales of extra bottles, though with a longer notice, it should give you all more time to place your orders.
You will also be receiving another email with some preliminary information about another membership program we will be running in Michigan, so keep your eyes peeled.
    Funkily yours,
    Chris Betts

    Immediate Update!!!
So it appears the Chicago Marathon is the 11th of October... Since many of our members/volunteers are running and/or involved, and all of you would be greatly affected by the traffic it causes, we will be moving it to the following Sunday, October 18th as long as nothing else pops up... Sorry for the confusion, but these weekends fill up fast with unusable days, and there is always some sort of conflict we need to avoid. This is definitely one of those.
    Michigan Membership
I have been tossing around some ideas for a Michigan version of the Reserve Membership, and of course would give all current members first right to join. I figured it might be helpful to jot down these thoughts and let you all know the direction we plan on taking.
Membership will be more similar to what some other American sour producers have done, where it is a blend of taproom discounts and secured bottles. I know many of you aren't able to reliably get to our location in Michigan for release events, and we will place less importance on being at the release for pickup, so members can get their beer when it is convenient (though the releases will still be preferred and lots of fun). We will continue allowing trustees for the designated release beer, to further lighten the burden. Still it is probably not ideal for everyone to drive out to Michigan, which at this point, we have no recourse. There will always be the Illinois version, with release events more convenient to many of you, and we will do our best to make both very much worth your effort to take part in.
Thank you all for the copious amount of support. We are incredibly excited at the direction our new location will allow, and hope that you are as well.
    Sincerely,
    Chris Betts

Did you bring it right home, chill it, and open it all same day?

If so, a lot of carbonation will go out of solution when it's jostled around. If you let it sit upright in the fridge for a few days the co2 will go back into solution. I opened one I bought from a store a few days ago and it was fine after being chilled for a couple days.

Did anyone go to the beer temple for the extra bottle sale on Sunday? Was it smooth or did everything sell out pretty quickly? I can't imagine there were a lot of bottles to go around even with some of those higher limits

I stopped by to pick up my preordered extra bottles. They had a list of 6-8 beers that you could get an additional 1-2 and noticed some non-members scooping some too

Sold pretty quickly it seemed; as is to be expected, anything with fruit was going faster than anything without.

Non-member here and went to the Temple Sunday to pick up what I could. Checked in around 4pm and everything except the Cherry Pentameter was left. It looked like they still had some bottles as of yesterday as well...but not sure.

Went to Beer Temple today and they had about 5 or so of the offerings left. I had a pretty full purchase of other items already, but have never had a Transient so I picked up a Salarium just to check it out.

He will still be doing a Reserve Society in Chicago even though the physical brewery will be in Michigan. Not sure if bottle shops in the area will continue to see any product though.

Almost 2 years stuck on the waiting list has finally paid off.

    Hello All!
Thank you so much for your incredible patience waiting for an opportunity to join our membership. If you are receiving this email, it should also be followed shortly by a paypal invoice allowing you to join our membership program. Here are the basics of the program, and what is included in this particular period. Since each period has different merchandise and benefits, please make sure you read everything carefully to minimize confusion now and in the future. If you have any questions, read it over to make sure you didn't miss anything before responding.
Transient Membership Period #4 1st half of 2016
-2 pieces of branded glassware for use at the release events (picked up at Transient party)
-1 Transient branded T-Shirt (picked up at Transient party)
-1 surprise piece of merchandise (picked up at Transient party)
-Admission for you and a guest to 2 private Transient parties over the course of the next 6 months (approximately that period of time. It could be longer or shorter depending when the beer is ready.) These events coincide with when our bottles are released at the Beer Temple. We tend to hold these on Sundays so most people can attend.
-Guarantee that you will have access to purchase at least one of every beer released for our membershipprogram over the course of this membership period (minimum 8 beers). The beers are not included in the membership cost and must be purchased from the beer temple separately.
-First access to purchase extra bottles of membership only beers
-First right to renew for following membership period
-Yet to be determined discounts at our soon to open brewery (does not extend to trustees)
*Some things to note when sending payment*
SHIRTS- You MUST include your shirt size on your paypal payment! You just add a note when sending. We need to know what shirt to order for you, and can't guess, so please make it easy on us.
TRUSTEES- If you think you might be unable to make the release events, or live out of the area, you may name a trustee to act in your stead. They will be able to attend events and pick up your beers/merchandise.
Memberships are non-transferable, so please do not try gifting it away. The list has grown significantly over the last year and it is only fair that those who have been waiting (all of you and those after you) have equal opportunity based on when they joined the list.
Thank you all for your support and interest. We have been fortunate to make all the interesting and unique beers that we feel set us apart because of this membership program, and we are excited for you to be a part of our club.
Also attached is the email I sent out a while back with general info about the membership and what else is happening with Transient.
    Cheers,
    Chris Betts

Yea. I have been on the waiting list for about a year and got the invoice. I figure Ill give it a go and see how it works out. I think 100 is a little steep but I guess it all depends on how the parties are. I figure your looking at 50 in merch and 50 on what is essentially 4 party tickets.
