the last two or maybe even three six packs of Columbus IPA I've picked up have been markedly differing from the gem I have loved so in the past. I thought maybe I got an old batch so I waited a few weeks and tried again. Same thing. The last one I picked up was bottle dated 15348. So I believe that's December 14 2015. So fresh. Same thing. Instead of hop depth and nuance I get a brash, harsh abrasive hop profile more fitting of a home brew than anything. Anyone else notice a change or is it my palate. I hope it's just an off couple of batches because I will greatly miss that old beer otherwise.

grabbed a sixer in early December, tasted great to me. Maybe CBC is concentrating all their efforts on bottling Bodhi now?

I've bought several 6 packs recently and haven't really noticed anything different. I've found quite a bit of variation over the years, but it always seems like pretty much the same beer... That being said, some 6 packs are better than others, IMO. Sometimes it's better fresh, sometimes better with a few weeks on it. But when that beer is on, it's a tough one to beat.

I noticed all the off tasting beers had plain silver crowns instead of the regular red ohio with the star on it. and it seemed like it was much clearer. no cloudiness at all. im probably just losing my damn mind.

I've noticed what I thought was some variation in the past, but only one really seemed "bad" to me (was over the summer) but it was kind of the opposite problem; not nearly hoppy enough- I thought it was an old batch at first, but it was only about 2 weeks old. I've noticed the caps switch back & forth.. I don't think there's too much of a pattern there.

That said, I keep buying it because it's generally cheaper, fresher, more available, and better than other IPAs around.

There's no back and forth or issue with the caps. Quite simply, we'll be introducing completely new packaging once the new bottle filler is up and running. We decided the order size for the old red logo caps was too large and we'd end up stuck with too many and have to throw them away. So we switched to the plain silver caps to get us through. I don't remember the exact date, but once we switched to plain cap it was a done deal. If you see any red logo caps, they're pretty old.

also, clear beer is good. we will continue to strive for it. cloudy yeasty beer is not, unless it's a style intended to be so. i.e.: hefe, weizenbock, etc

that being said: there's definitely some slight variation from batch to batch. We're still a pretty small brewery in. We taste every batch and tinker here and there. There's also variation in raw materials. Even the flavors and aromas from the same hop, from the same crop year and same lot will change slightly as it's stored throughout the year. Largely, the beer is the same. In my opinion, IPA has tasted better in the last month or so than it has in a while.
    To each, his own.

Mine, as well. Can't go wrong with it, considering the price.

Sounds like someone is taking a direct shot at Hoof Hearted with the "clear beer is good" comment

I too notice slight variations but the recent fresh sixers I've gotten have been on point.
Since we have someone here from the company, when can we expect bottles of Bodhi to finally happen? Is 2016 a sure thing?

Wut? Why does an IPA or APA have to be clear? If you want clear beer than InBev has you covered.

When I was in Columbus this weekend, I tested this out for science. It tastes just as good as it always has. Love this beer. They also had the silver caps.

This growing sentiment among beer drinkers is really depressing.
