I'm coming up on 10yrs here on BA and I'm starting to ignore the forums because of one key issue, the constant whining. It didn't use to be this way. I know the cost has gone up but it is a business that is experiencing a rapid explosion in growth and there is a lot of money some are willing to throw at bottles. Good beer is a living thing and thus it has a risk of changing in unwanted ways. Are there some breweries that are cutting corners to brew more/fast? Yes, but all this whining is pathetic. Let's raise the bar on these forums. Keep it interesting.

So in an effort to advocate for good beer I'd like to share a story an outstanding brewery.

I'd like to give a shout out to Unibroue. Way back in 2005 I was living in Montreal. I was just getting into the craft beer game and I bought a bottle of La Terrible. When I opened it I experience my first infected beer. So I called the brewery and left a message with the bottle code and all. I didn't expect much but I wanted to let them know they had an issue. A few days later I got a call from the brewery asking when they could come by my place and drop something off. I couldn't believe it, the next day a Unibroue employee showed up at my door with two bottles of La Terrible. That was extraordinary customer service!

Excellent story, I just had a similar experience with 18th Street. Opened up my first bottle of Coffee Hunter and it was clearly infected. Messaged the brewery and within a week I had a new bottle of Cherry Hunter sitting on my door step. I was so surprised by the speed and willingness to make it right, they are definitely on my visit list after that! I'll also throw in that they make awesome beer and I need to get there soon!

Shout out to Stone, particularly the Liberty Station location. Great service, food, and beer selection every time I go. It is a staple every time I am out in San Diego.

I'll go along - shout to Blue Mountain - A few years ago got an infected bottle and notified them. They sent two replacement bottles to my doorstep. Nice folks.

Shout out to Odd Side--went to their release of Bourbon Barrel Imperial Mayan Mocha back in October and while there was a huge line, it went down without incident and the staff was friendly and helpful.

Most importantly, their prices for these amazing barrel-aged stouts and what not are very reasonable compared to the standard going prices for similar beers. I'm not sure if that is related to the fact that they release them out of the brewery and only distribute the small amount of leftovers, but whatever it is, they are content to pass the savings on to their customers.

    Shout out to Two Roads.

Living in NJ (far south) and less than 3 hours from Connecticut, i can find almost all of their offerings. They keep beer simplified yet interesting in this extreme beer world. And a hoppy pilsner and saison are my favorite types of beer which from them are both reasonably priced and available. And if i want a little more or something less subtle, there the DIPA, and black ale. So for a brewery thats on my radar for 2015 i thank them for i have tried to go back to basics and go to simpler beer times, and they keep me simplified and satisfied.

Cheers to Two Roads. Keep it coming !

Shout out to 3F. They were great. The lines were organized, the seating was easy. The food came out quick, the servers were nice, an overall pleasant experience with people who seemed to really enjoy their craft.

The tour guide came to our table after and we just talked about beer for 30 minutes before his next tour. Good, genuine people.

While not necessarily a brewery, a big shout out to the folks who planned and administered this year's Screw City Brew Festival in Rockford, Illinois. A super-well run event: great breweries, both local, regional, and national; easy navigation of the tasting areas/booths; stellar lineup of local eats offering really great chow; quality merch/swag; and situated in a really cool block of historic downtown Rockford.

I've been to a handful of beer festivals, but Screw City is head and shoulders the best. Kudos.

21st Amendment Brewery/San Fran - A few years back I had a Marooned on Hog Island that was infected/contaminated. Like the OP, for quality control purposes, I just wanted the brewer know that one beer in my four pack was not right. It garnered an immediate response and a free t-shirt showed up in the mail a week later.

Shout out to Steady Habit in Haddam, CT. New brewery doing very well, and will continue to do greater in 2016. Another shout goes to Lasting Brass in Waterbury, CT who will be opening its doors soon. And one last shout goes to Kent Falls Brewery in CT, coming out with some terrific brews. Good luck to you rookies in 2016. Hopefully you will compete well with the likes of New England Brewing, TreeHouse, Trillium, Hill Farmstead, and Lawson's.

Shout out to Dry Dock in Aurora, CO. They've been putting out great beers for 10+ years. While they fly under the radar, they've won more WBC/GABF medals than any other CO brewer during that time. They're in the top 5 in the nation, too.

Shout out to Olde Hickory Brewery. Every release goes off without a hitch - bottle shares the night prior to releases are held inside the brewery, and handled excellently - with rarities on draft even. Their three pubs are all top notch, two are within walking distance of the brewery itself. The fact they have one of the (if not THE) best barrel aging programs in the word? Icing on the cake. http://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/7753/?sort=avgD&view=beers&show=all

Also: big ups to Haymarket Brewery in Chicago. My wife and I checked them out a few weeks ago while on vacation. One of the best German pilsners I've had in recent memory. Locals: Get there and fill up a growler. Amazing beer.
