For places I've visited, a big shoutout to
Founders & Stone (original location): Both excellent food and surroundings to go with great beers!

I like the positive take here but I'm afraid all these stories of breweries taking good care of folks will make the butt-hurt folks all the more miserable. So keep it up!!

And shout out to Carton and Rushing Duck; my two most recent brewery visits. They were both spectacular from the service to the products.

Shoutout to Cellarmaker, Russian River and Heretic. Three of my most favorite Bay Area breweries. World class beer, world class people.

Shout out to Unibroue - La Fin Du Monde was the beer that got me hooked into this lifestyle
Shout out to Sierra Nevada, Lagunitas for making accessible, world class, affordable beers
Shout out to Genesee Brewery for making the O.G. cream ale and for also recently stepping up your game with the highly enjoyable scotch ale and Salted Caramel Porter.

    Cheers to this thread!!

I give a shot out to three places in NYC (that I'm sure all the tri-state BAs will agree) I frequent the most, have great conversation with and am treated very well at: that's the Whole Foods in Chelsea, Beer Culture in Hell's Kitchen and Milk & Hops in Greenwich Village.
2 places on Long Island where I can say the same and that's the fellas at Beer City in North Bab and Kurt at Babylon Beverages.

In the true spirit of this thread I'll give love to 2 breweries. 2 breweries that were there for me when there was nowhere else to go and that's Blue Point and Brooklyn. Thank you.

Shoutout to my wife who puts up with my craft beer obsession and has let me take over a large part of the storage in my house for all my beer, not to mention the entire outdoor fridge.

If you can elaborate about Brooklyn and Blue Point, I'd appreciate it. Are you referring to a situation years ago?

Shout out to Appalachian Mountain Brewery in Boone, NC
They've only been open for a bout three years, but during that time, they've become a key part in the Boone community. Everything they do they make sure to do it in the most sustainable way possible and they give proceeds from each beer sold to charities within the community. They've always got new beers on tap, and it's great to see their products, in cans and kegs, making their way across the state. They've also got a food truck with a wood fired pizza oven that cranks out fantastic food. I hope to see their future success down the road.

No situation. Just, that they were the first two breweries around here and they were a beacon in an ocean of shit(beer). I went to both places fairly regularly in the late 90s/early 00s when they were really the only players in the game.

Now, there's a brewery in every town it seems, and, of course, I have kids and responsibilities now. If anything, I fill a growler or two or meet friends for an hour and that's about the long and short of it.

I hear yah. Back when I was a bachelor, it was heaven on earth to be out at a bar that had either Brooklyn Lager or Toasted Lager on tap. I was such a treat back then (as you said: late 90s/early 00s).

It's easy to pile on in the complaints department, I will admit.

My shoutout goes to a bottle shop I walked into expecting a lot, and had my expectations surpassed. I left with a box full of incredible beers. That such store is Plaza Liquor. I submitted it to the BA database after debating if I wanted to share this hidden gem in Kansas City. Someone will eventually, so it might as well be me. Rumor has it they'll start doing build your own 6 packs sometime soon-ish, which would make this about a 99/100 bottle shop for me.

I've also been a BA for quite some time and active on the site for about 8 years (I started drinking craft in the 1990s in upstate NY). I had a similar experience to the OP but more recently with Triple C Brewing Co in Charlotte, NC - I got an infected bottle of The Dude Imbibes. I sent the brewery a message just to let them know with the bottling date and batch number, not expecting anything in return or asking for anything in return. They asked for my address (I live about 90 minutes away) and I received in the mail a bottle of a comparable barrel aged offering and a few stickers/coasters.

I forgot to mention a couple of other spots that had great customer service - Juggheads in Winston-Salem who reached out after reading my review on this site (I did not slam them but it was super busy and understaffed) to offer me a free beer on my next visit and Peabody's in Boone who offered to share a beer with me after helping explain some of the site changes and how it was affecting their place page (@MrPeabodysBeard is also a top notch BA who often is helping other BAs out with being willing to ship glassware and the like).

Shout out to Sam Adams - I used their website feedback to let them know that the Winter Classics 12-pack I bought had one Chocolate Bock and 3 Boston Lagers, and they got back to me right away saying they were mailing a refund check. Totally un-asked for and unnecessary, but guess what, I've bought two more Winter Classics 12-packs in the last month! However, I still haven't gotten the taste out of my mouth from the historic but thoroughly disgusting 1997 Triple Bock I opened last summer...

Shout out to Liquid Hero. A lot of the beers I've had from them have been "ok" at best, with only one that stood out reasonably, and even that one didn't stand up to others I've had in the style, it just held up against other LOCAL options. That said, I absolutely love visiting their brewery when I can -- cozy atmosphere, the people who work there are active in the local community and are great to talk to when visiting the bar. While I love having great beers as much as possible, I have no problem hitting a local brewery that simply does "ok" beers once in a while, just for something different, and to get it straight from the source.

Big shouts to Braxton in Covington, KY. I couldn't make it down to their release of Dark Charge, and the owner was kind enough to save me the four pack. I know it helps working at a nice bottle shop and bar, but that was above and beyond. Thnaks guys!
