We all are aware of dirty bottles and embossing. GI/AB will have to have a game changer in 2016 that is my assertion , what it will be IDK.

It has been mentioned probably 20+ times in this thread. They're time stamps, not batch numbers. There are not over 2,000 batches of BCBCS.

That's what I thought. Thanks for confirming.

I waited in line for two hours in the cold November rain to buy my allotment... of one. And although I enjoy regular, I was willing to wait for coffee - 'cause nothing lasts forever, even BCBCS.

GNR lyrics aside, the GI rep that I spoke with today as I filed my very courteous complaint was quite pleasant. She took down my name, address and phone number, and info including date purchased (Black Friday), bottle info (17/SEP/15; 1234), location (Field's Foods in STL), storage method (basement cellar @ 55-60 degrees), consumption date (01/JAN/16), and tasting notes (sour garbage). She committed to personally phoning me when they have determined their next course of action. I'm very optimistic that they'll make it right soon.

bro dude...they more than likely threw out most of their bw and probably this stuff as well....it's been a couple of weeks, which is ample time to field one of your thousands of direct complaints, test every single bottling batch, and at least make a statement saying that they are looking into possible irregularities. 99.9% of people in the world have never heard of bourbon county. no idea...so the clientale that they are catering to at this point in general are a bunch of beer dorks...

and we want answers now! i mean acknowledgments. now!

Right it has been a couple of weeks, over Christmas and New Years. I would expect something in the next week or so, but I expect them to figure out what happened before making any big statements.

I only cracked one because of this thread.

Sadly it was tart up front and vegetale green sour aftertaste. Taste of no coffee, tiny bit on the nose. Drain pour.

You're forgetting to factor in the typical speed that gigantic corporations and their team of lawyers move at.

in most industries, even beer, you can use these holidays as an excuse, but when you plan an entire year around a holiday-themed release, you have people on the clock, everyday. every single day.

    The inside of the bottles are smooth, I made some glasses out of a couple. Pic from before they were finish sanded;

Curious to know if anyone has taken note to what states/regions of the country these infected bottles were purchased from. I wonder if that is something worth looking into.

I ended up buying like 36-40 bottles of this on Black Friday. Have worked my way through about 24 of them and sent 6 or so to buddies and trade partners. I have 6 left. Hoping the rest aren't infected but it was nice to enjoy what I have so far. I have stored them all at 34 degrees since Black Friday so hopefully that has helped slow any possible infection. I haven't had any issues....yet.

I'm not even a glassware person, but ISO one of these. Nice work!

So this is on topic, I had a bcbcs last week and it was fine. Bought in Tampa. Recycled long before I was aware of this thread so no data to report.

Embossed bottles should be smooth on the inside. They're made with a mold and the molten glass is blown with air to fill the mold cavity, basically inflating it like a balloon to fill the mold. So the embossing is on the outside, rough with sharp, crisp edges and the inside is smooth. The bottle is thicker at the point of the embossing.

Interesting. I just fished my bottle from last night out of the recycling (it was from a regal) and broke it. The one I am looking at has little groves behind each letter. They aren't especially deep or jagged (edges are rounded off) but the surface is definitely not flat.

This is what I had assumed, but someone pointed out to me that they weren't and for at least the one I just broke it isn't flat. The edges of the groves are melted and smooth, but it isn't a flat surface.

No idea if this is enough for something to get stuck in the bottle (or how they clean them before bottling - steam? sanitizer?), but it would seem that the bottle making process doesn't always leave the interior smooth.

I'm not trying to come off as making fun of this, I'm really not. I don't wish any Ill will on anyone reading this. But remembering all the hysteria a few weeks ago, thread after thread about people camping out thanksgiving night for it and then finding out the fucking stuff is undrinkable? How are you not punching walls? Seriously, I hope there's not too many of you that ran into problems. Man, that has to suck!

There's no problem with acknowledging the humor in all this. It's pretty hilariously ironic. I'm affected and am chuckling with you.

More concerning is the cause. If it's the barrels, is it possible barleywine and regular will follow suit? Already an infected BCBBW thread.
