Nah, no worries, man, I didn't read it like that. I was just providing context to the idea that it might not have disappeared instantly. I don't think it sold out quite as quickly as BA Malevolence Caliente (but that was a huge clusterf*ck anyway).

 

I'll give it a shot at LP Binny's probably after work, keeping my expectations very low (or zero).

 

Man, the trifecta of a truck chasing Chicago beer:

1. Limit 1? CHECK.
2. Supposedly limited quantities per store that gives a sense of 'urgency' to avoid FOMO so it disappears in less than 30 minutes? CHECK.
3. Vanilla included in description? CHECK.

We need a term for this. #Chicagoing? #ChiFOMO?

Just to let you know, I was in LP Binny's at around 12:30 and there was about 2 left...that's assuming they put all of their stock on the shelf. They did have a "1 per" sign out.

 

Where does it say that? I checked all 8 of my bottles and none of them have that written in anywhere...

 

I suppose I should've known better. I thought I might get lucky with availability like I did with Abraxas.

I Chicafomo works better to say, although chifomo looks better.

I would also point out that you left off the second most important bullet point: Barrel-aged beer (or BA stout, whichever seems more appropriate). Limit 1 BA stouts are basically a brewery's way to print money.

 

Pretty sure they got just one case. Long gone now.

 

You forgot to mention that if you individually number the bottles and tweet the bottle count people will loose their shit...

 

Correct. Also did not include WAX, but IIRC, the bottle doesn't have wax.

 

Personal preference, obviously, but I think this is a better BA Vanilla beer than BCBVS. And I think if non-BA Darkness is $20+, Dosvidanya is $20+, BCBS variants are now above $20 for a smaller bottle, etc., $17 is on the cheaper end for a BA beer.

Not knocking your opinion, just saying I think it's a decent value compared to the market. Also, I regret mentioning the market, so forget I said anything!

I told myself last night I wasn't even going to look for this today, then this morning I talked myself into at least stopping by for it. I suppose I should've just ignored it the whole time.

 

I laughed, but honestly, this is more or less the story for the limited releases. If I didn't have a super flexible lunch schedule at work, I'd miss out on 90% of this stuff (and did last year, when my schedule was stricter). Having a 9-5 does not jibe with hunting .rar beers.

 

Binnys in BG says if they get it at all it will be on Friday.
