Just moved to Detroit area

    Hey guys, just moved over from Buffalo, NY area to the Detroit/Royal oak area for work. I am looking for some recommendations in the area for bottle shops, breweries, upcoming events, etc. I have already been to Griffin Claw, Jolly pumpkin, Clubhouse BFD, Ale Mary's, One Eyed Betty's, and got some bottles at Pour. I plan to hit Holiday Market, Kuhnhenn, and Roak soon but am really looking for the locals advice. Any help is appreciated as I've only been here a week and although the breweries have been great, I haven't found too many bottle shops just yet. Thanks!

    Royal Oak: River Rouge just opened on 4th street and is a pretty good brewery.

    Berkley: Vinsetta Garage has great food and usually a really good beer menu

    Ferndale: 8 degrees Plato is a solid bottle shop

    Most liquor stores in the area usually have a good beer selection though they aren't obvious on the outside.

    Cloverleaf on Main Street underneath Bigalora is a good bottle shop but the guy there takes good care of regulars so visit often if you can.

    Should also mention that the Royal Oak Farmers Market on 11 mile sometimes does beer festivals. Nothing super rare or crazy but usually a good time

    Kuhnhenn is a definite must, and I also recommend Dragonmead. Falling Down isn't much of a tap room
    or tap list, but they have some solid beers on sometimes. A little further but easy to get to, Ascension Brewing in Novi is excellent, and a little further out is Witch's Hat that blew up in 2015 with their barrel stout and variants.

    Holiday Market in Royal Oak should be on your regular stops for bottles. @Holiday1072 posts new arrivals on facebook, * Degrees also does this but it's often more cryptic.

    Don't forget to get in your car and come to the west/best side of the state as often as you can. :wink:

    I'm on the other side of the state in Kalamazoo so I don't have any recommendations other than what is above. I have some family on that side of the state so I can let you know when I get over there the next time
