I usually do 1-2 moderate gravity pale Belgian beers every year. This year it was the Averagely Perfect Brett saison and a similar beer with wlp585. f I can find a bottle of Dupont this year, it might make for a nice project. I've never raised dregs to primary pitching strength before.

Mashing in my first beer in about 4 months - a porter at the request of my wife and my mother. Good to be back at it again.

Currently mashing an IPA that will get 6oz galaxy and 2 oz each of citra and mosaic. Mostly 2-row with some munich and a pinch of honey malt and caramunich 56L

While you are at it, find a bottle of Orval and step that up as well. It is very easy to step up dregs and you don't need many steps if you start with a lowish gravity beer.

I've done this with Orval, adding to secondary, as a way of adding Brett to something sort of like an Orval. Just never tried to raise up enough for a primary fermenting strain.

@jbakajust1 hahahahahahaha, and good for you. I figured after the last blitze unleashed on me with the EGS I figured to spell it out.

Never used WLP565, every time I have a bottle of Dupont, I think I need to buy it again. So, when I need more yeast, I buy a bottle of Dupont and then step up the dregs enough to make a small beer and then use the cake for a bigger beer.

Never had a stall with a reasonable pitch of dregs.

Looking at the lack of room in that pot is stressing me out!

Got it. Seems like a reasonable approach. And at the very least, you have a bottle of Dupont to drink!

Decided to order new beer line because the stuff I bought (Ultra Barrier Silver) still gives off-flavors in beer once it sits in it... Going with the accuflex bev-seal stuff now, which was FAR less expensive, too... Hoping it works out better (and I did buy the proper fittings as well)...

Hoping I can return the other 30' of the Ultra Barrier stuff I didn't use of the 50' purchased... That is like $50 in tubing I won't use now.

got me worried...just bought some of the "silver". You said "still" gives off-flavors...did you have a problem before buying the new line?

I said "still" because I figured for the price and reviews I read, it sounded like it shouldn't do that. I just got my keezer up and working like two weeks ago and after the beer sits for a few hours, I can already taste the tubing in the beer... Disappointed for spending some $80 in tubing I thought wouldn't give off-flavors... Thankfully AIH allows very easy RMA returns so I am sending back the other 30' and getting $50 back.

Is it a different off-flavor than before? Was there an off-flavor before? Just curious

This is the only tubing I have used... Sorry if I was not clear enough. I have no experience with other tubing yet, although it is on order.
