Who really cares what other people think. Drink what you like and to hell with their opinion of you.

I'm with you. I thought the homer thing was meant to be lighthearted. I've been in Austin for my entire adult life (since 2000). That we can have some discussion of all the BA stouts that Texas is making now blows me away.

Also, I'd throw my hat in the ring behind EC La Muerta as well. I actually shared it with a few people alongside BCBS and to compare is kind of pointless. They're just different.

Honestly, I'm not worried about being a homer because I LOVE so many breweries. It's just a tastier beer. So when I was able to get some of this last batch I was STOKED.

I still have a few or the regular and EC12 at my store. In Austin. FYI. PM me if you're wanting to pick one up. I only have the EC12 in my fridge but a 'regular' has come in THREE times in the last week picking those and some others up.

I think BCBS is way above BBH. One main reason is because BCBS age's a lot friendlier than BBH. Most batches of BBH end up a bit oxidized after 2 years, whereas I have never encountered that with BCBS, even with a 5 year old bottle.

the last couple iterations of KBS have been a shell of what made it popular.

    kinda like abyss.

That's a bummer. I was so excited to get it and I thought it was just fine but the flavor profile of BBH was just insanity.

This year's beer is never as good as last year's beer. That's rule number one in beer

Man, I really loved KBS this last year. The year before though, I didn't appreciate it nearly as much. Probably has as much to do with us as individuals as it does the beer.

Wasn't as keen on Abyss though. Actually had it again on tap the other day. Too much cherry for me or something.

What Total Wine were you able to still find BCBS at?

Total Wine across from North Star Mall in SA had a bottom shelf with at least a case of dusty BCBS on Wednesday. Specs San Marcos had a huge display of multiple cases last I checked, as well.

I was at Total Wine across front the mall yesterday and they still had quite a few bottles on the bottom shelf.

I've never gotten harsh bitterness... and I've had tons of BBH. Oh well. Everyone is different. This years BCBS was just ok. Not worth the price paid by me for sure.

I don't really think my opinion will matter in something subjective like personal taste. But since I am who I am I will give you this....

I have had BBH about 3 times. The 1st time was at a Freetail bottle share. My tasting notes read, "That's nice Houston." Now what that means I have no idea, but I doubt it was complimentary.

I don't buy beer anymore, but I will pick up BCBS if I see it readily available.

Now the real question, for me at least, is which bottle will hold up best during a rumble. Now I am not an expert in the weaponization of beer bottles, but I will take a stab at it.

Both bottles are of similar weight. However, BBH's 22oz bottle gives you a slight reach advantage. BCBS' new bottle design gives a better grip for throwing and swinging. So in a pinch I would go with BCBS. YRMV.

You show total disregard for reach in this post, BBH has BCBS 1.5 inches

Never underestimate the usefulness and stealthiness of a smaller bottle.

"And one night in a jealous rage Kelly took a make-shift knife or shiv, and cut out the bitch's eyes. And as if this wasn't enough retribution for Kelly, the next day he and four other inmates took turns pissing - into the bitch's - ocular cavities...This way to the cafeteria."

RIP Phil Hartman. Sorry, had to do it.

Anyway, is there anyone out there that could point me towards a bottle of regular BBH in the Dallas area? Hoping to grabone or two if possible.

You posted this a few days late, drove up for the weekend from Houston, could have brought you one. I know that Social House in Addison had it on tap Friday night, along with a ton of others and Project PAM
