Afternoon BAs. Still cold here in SW MI, but at least the lake effect stopped. Final tally, 6 inches in 12 hours. Shovelling the deck twice in two days is a real downer. Trying Perrin's 98 problems in an attempt to brighten my mood :stuck_out_tongue:

No; the manager at the Total Wine in west Ashley recommended this to me when I was there...I need to get/try more Coast beers!

Just shoveled the driveway so the person delivering the impending box from California won't slip and fall. One of these is to warm me up, the other is the refreshment.

Day three of being cooped up inside. Things are starting to get scary. Needed something big and and dark. This 2013 Ten Fidy is just the ticket today. Thank you @LeperJim for this gem from your cellar, you are far more patient than I!

G' afternoon BA's!! Didn't post anything yesterday, the wife and I went to Animal Kingdom together and then we went out to eat with the kids later.
While at AK we visited the little bar the just opened next to Expidition Everest; had a T ampa Bay Old Elephant Foot IPA; such a solidly balanced IPA.

Anyway, changed the brake pads on here mini-van this morning and tried updating to Windows 10 on my laptop...yeah that's a fail. Not too concerned about that, but at least her transportation is a little safer!

Well, right now I'm sipping on this offering from Terrapin

The guy working at the ABC I bought this at a few months ago said it was a little too sweet for him, so I let this one sit in the fridge for a while and mellow out!
Well, let me tell you.....this ain't too sweet for me! Plenty of funkiness and the blackberries do come through at then end for a little sweetness and then a completely dry finish. Really nice to drink and keep going back for more.

    Cheer Big Ears!

Nice! When I first tried Ten Fidy it was a fresh can and it was very boozy in both the aroma and taste. The final can I had was cellared for only 3 months or so but it absolutely calmed the booze factor. Was MUCH more enjoyable.

I think it's going to take me two months to read this because it's so damn scary I can't do more than two chapters at a time.

I expect to see some flowers on those animals in the spring.

Often the parody outshines the original. "Can't murder now, eating."

Off of work now (2nd job), I was surprised at how incredibly meh this was.

Pours darker than expected with a chestnut brown body, 3 fingers of beige head, and nice lacing left behind. Opacity is 60%.

It smells of nuts and festive fruits, namely cranberry, figs, plums, peaches, and pecans. A little twinge of hop behind it all.

The taste is...different. First it's sour, then bitter, then watery, and then yeasty. Standout flavors are brown breads, pecans, mushy plums, old banana peels, and smoked cherries. A chemical presence is also detected.

Feel is watery and buzzing, and a dry and woody finish.

Hmph. Well overall I'm not too impressed but I guess it could be worse. It's better than Sparkling Ale and Holiday Porter, but still a far cry behind the Chocolate Bock. Overall the Holiday Pack is a weak purchase.

Cold day with a bitter windchill. My wife and I braved Home Depot for some paint, then had lunch at The Portsmouth Brewery. We both had Torn and Frayed, a very nice IPA

After lunch we stopped at Spruce Creek Provisions, a new beer store in Kittery. One of the beers I picked up was Chocolate Peanut Butter Porter by Horny Goat Brewing. It's not going to be one of my favorites. The tastes are all there, but it's unpleasantly sharp.

Thank you for the tune; the opening/closing guitar chording is classic. So, so smiling as I type...
