Just saw that Stone now has details of every release on their website. Looks like the same hop varieties used for the Black IPA are now being used for Enjoy By? They list the Unfiltered and Black as using Amarillo, Cascade, Centennial, Ella, Galaxy, Super Galena, and Vic Secret. The Enjoy By before this one (12.25.15) used Ahtanum, Super Galena, Simcoe, Amarillo, Delta, Target, Calypso, Cascade, Citra, Galaxy, Nelson Sauvin, Motueka, and Helga. Wonder if this is true or just a mistake on the website.

Heady topper has bee a big part of the "hazy craze andhas been a huge seeker since what 2004 to present, gandi bot, Three house has been open since 2011. long trail unfiltered ipa was introduced somewhere between '99 - '00. unfiltered ipas have been a thing since i been 18 and that would bring you back to 2004.

And to add the only IPA "craze" i know of thats been around and started to become popular around 2013 was session IPA's. Or better words became marketable granted they may have been around prior but i cant think of any before with the name session before 2010 ish

Im not a beer noob i know about beer may not be always 100% accurate but i knew black ipas werent originated on the West coast but may have been made more available to the every day consumer by the west coast.

Take a little time and have a read.

there is a big difference between a "thing" and a "craze". people weren't after an unfiltered ipa like they are now prior to 2013/2014. there still aren't many on the west coast, so its relatively new. you made it seem like it always was and therefore a noob.

Just so we all know, before this hazy craze, Heady Topper was usually considered an ugly beer by this community.

It still is, depending on when you pour it.

Not sure how long it takes but after a while you start getting chunks of sediment the size of Tylenol pills.

Ummmm. Isn't there print on the can that says "Drink From The Can"? Personally, I don't care what it looks like. Heady is still mind bending and arguably set this whole hazy / juicy IPA fire that is now raging.

And the reason text on the can of Heady Topper reads "drink from the can" is because the brewery was afraid that people would be turned off by the look of the beer if they poured it into a glass. Cloudy/opaque liquid was seen as a flaw until very recently.

Stop posting. Admit defeat. You're wrong.
