From what I've read, they have a pretty limited menu. Me and the wife heading up there this weekend, just wanted to hear some thoughts about whether we should eat somewhere else or take our chances there.

    thanks and cheers!

Go to Slow's then go to Kuhnhenn. I did exactly this and my night in Detroit was amazing!

There is no food at Kuhnhenn's. They have some bricks of cheese with crackers and a frozen pizza you can buy, that's all. I would hit Lockharts in Royal Oak for some damn fine BBQ and taplist then go to Kuhnhenns. Or Lazybones in Warren close to Warren. Basically don't plan on eating at Kuhnhenn's.

You can bring food in, so pick up something tasty to eat and head over to Kuhnhenns to enjoy that with their brews!

I wouldn't plan on eating there unless you consider cheese, crackers and sausage food. There is a 5 guys right up the road, you could grab a couple burgers there and bring them in if your looking to eat good on the cheap. I'm pretty sure they are "food" friendly there. Or just eat before you go.

Or as Dave said you can bring in whatever you'd like. They are totally cool with that and you won't get any grief for it.

Lazybones is my favorite BBQ in all of metro Detroit. I've tried them all, including ones supposed to be the "best"(Slows, Union Woodshop, Bad Brads), but I always come back to Lazybones...for what it's worth!

If Kuhnhenn had food, they probably wouldn't know what they had and they'd run out of a lot of stuff. But beer...they got that down.

+1 to Lazybones. Get the whole smoked wings.

Last weekend, me and the wife went to BWs a mile down the road and got our food to go. BWs and Kuhnhenn brews matched perfectly.

There's a middle eastern place on Van **** just south of 12 Mile that's pretty solid, you could grab food from there and bring it to Kuhnhenn. They'll have a folder full of menus there too, just ask at the bar.

Hardee's is about a mile north and those arent easy to come by in this area.

They probably have skids of gourmet food sitting in the back, but just haven't gotten around to it yet.

Current taplist is freaking awesome!!! DRIPA is beautiful right now, they have a West Coast Session IPA that is solid and the Anniversary Ale is a tasty IPA. Also have Imperial Creme Brule Java and a Habenero Wheat that is actually quite good. I rarely hype the Kuhnhenns list up, but was very pleased when I went Monday night.

    Food still sucks though :grimacing:
