One way to shut up a bunch of fair weather fans is to always come back rip roaring. I stopped in Alpine yesterday for lunch and to exchange my off bottles of Pure. Steve told me it was bottled Monday, probably the freshest batch I've had a chance to grab. Popped one a few minutes ago and holy shite, what's up at Alpine ? The recipes have never been more focused, flavorful, balanced and just plain delicious. Over the coarse of the last year if there was one bottling that I could live without it would have had to been Pure. If this batch is any indication it is now one I will have to keep in stock, an absolutely amazing batch, yea it's super fresh but the Flavors just pop, it's so juicy and bitter, just what a real west coast IPA should be.not to be overlooked, but the recent batch of Nelson, and Duet seem to be, as Emeril would say " kicked up a notch " bravo team Alpine !

Did this really need to be its own thread? Five of the top fifteen threads in the Pacific forum are about Alpine, three of which you've started...can we just have one thread about Alpine's QC problems and response to those aforementioned problems?

If you read my post it is not all about the past QC problems at Alpine as It is a confirmation that the new batch of Pure just may be one of the best in a long long time. I feel it's important to be fair and unbiased on forums. There were a lot of people here that dumped big time on Alpine because of a problem with the last batch of Pure, I stated that in addition to the fresh batch of Pure that hundreds of other BA have noticed a big leap in flavor and overall quality of many other selections. No offense but it sounds like maybe there is more to your post than what meets the eye ?

    Cheers.....

i've never doubted alpine's ability to turn out (and continue to turn out) the best of the best in hoppy offerings. the way they handled the ba token and most recent chez release, however, was an embarrassment and exposed an undesirable amateur element to the operation.

Dude. Seriously. You started a thread about fresh Pure. It's three threads down. You couldn't have put in your plug there?

Seriously...? We're talking about beer on a messageboard, I think it's pretty much a given that all of our respective biases are in play, and there's nothing wrong with that.

...flat Nelson, crappy Chez Monieux, and infected BA Token and BA Odin's Raven...you make it sound like people were just begging for a reason to bash Alpine and capitalized on a single misstep. That's not the case whatsoever.

No...I really just didn't think we needed yet another Alpine thread. In spite of my frustration about sitting on infected bottles of Token that they won't offer any compensation for, I'm still quite a fan of Alpine's hoppy beers. We just don't need a new thread about them every few days.

"Stalker Boner"... What a great name for a beer. Or a band. Either way, it has a ring to it. Funny!
